Piles of rocks throughout the bush indicate that this land once was farmed. A creek runs through the property with a beaver pond. The land has a main trail that goes right through to the back of the property. The land is a mixed forest with maple, pine, hemlock, birch and cedar.
The land is rolling and flat with good walking trails. Great hiking, cross country skiing or biking trails. Only 50 minutes to Kanata, 30 minutes to Perth, Almonte or Carleton Place, and for downhill skiing only 30 minutes to Calabogie. Many lakes in the area for fishing, swimming and boating.

Camping on Paul's property for the night was breathtaking. Being able to camp in a quiet, secluded area backing onto a beautiful creek was exactly what I needed.
Paul was super friendly and welcoming. He showed us where the site was and even offered the cabin for us to sleep in. Plenty of wood was provided.
I highly recommend this place - it's perfect!
I'm definitely going back again.

We had a lovely time at bon echo tiny village. It's our first time here with our RV camper. The site was nice and clean and the facilities are well maintained. We were at site 44, which is in the forest lane. It was only a min walk from the office, washroom and pool. The staff was so friendly and lovely. We're about 5 min walk from the dock and had a great time kayaking!

This was our third time here this season and we love it so much we booked another trip next month! Sitting by the river with our coffee and a book has become our new favourite way to unwind after a busy week. Our kids love being able to swim and paddle board right off the site, and they are still in direct sight line!
Plenty of space to set up multiple tents, and the dining shelter came in handy on a wet morning. Tons of shade but some sunny spots, too, ideal mix of spaces.
There is a bit of poison ivy around the edges of the site so take a peek around to make sure you know where it is.
This has quickly become our favourite family get away and we will be coming back again and again!

We stayed for 3 nights at this beautifully maintained site that had everything we needed: picnic table, fire pit, dock with chairs, and a paddle boat! The road wasn’t too busy, the area was quiet, and the water was the perfect temperature! It was a bit awkward fitting our 26ft trailer in through the trees but we made it work with where it was. We will definitely book again!

Absolutely Stunning and Peaceful Escape! 🌲💦
We just returned from an incredible stay at this beautiful campsite and couldn’t be happier. The scenery was breathtaking — especially the waterfalls, which were not only gorgeous but so much fun to explore. There were plenty of well-marked trails that made hiking easy and enjoyable for all skill levels.
The host was fantastic — welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was just right. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing nature getaway!

Camping close to Sheridan Rapids was alot of fun. Great swimming near the bridge. The lazy river float was super fun - if the water levels were a bit higher it woulda been perfect. Walk to the water was a bit longer than expected, but still less than 10 minutes along a quiet road. Ryan was responsive and helpful. Thanks again!

Our second time here and it definitely didn't disappoint. Don's place is amazing. The river was just the right temperature, the wild life was everywhere, caught lots of fish, lost a lot of fish but that's fishing. Lol. This is one of our favorite spots to come. Absolutely privacy. We had a very relaxing time staying in the Fallsview site! On one side of the site was the road with some trees in between but very little traffic going by so road noise didn’t bother us. On the other side was a flowing creek separating us from the other campsites. We were the only ones there for most of the time so we sat by the creek often to cool ourselves off. The site was very large so would be great for groups but we just pulled our truck camper up to the platform and had the rest of the space to run around with the dog! The best part of the entire stay was the waterfall…1 minute walk from our site, easy to get to if you’re adventurous. With small pools to dip in if it’s hot out. August was friendly and attentive, definitely worth a visit!

The dogs and I had a wonderful stay at the private site on the water!
The signs into site were very easy to follow with lots of space to park and turn my large suv around.
The outhouse is close to camp but also offers privacy.
The site has a few places where tents can be pitched. Theres two ropes for clothes lines as well as a covered picnic table.
In the dining area there is also a homemade cabinet with locks.
The water has a small current but was very enjoyable to swim in and not cold this time of year.
There is multiple size grills to cook over the fire and three muskoka chairs a small table and additional plastic chair.
There is a small loop that you can walk to do something on the property. It is secluded to your site as the other ones aren't on the loop path.
We look forward to booking again! Don was very easy to connect with and ask any questions with fast replies.

Where to go
Algonquin Provincial Park
One of the oldest protected public parks in the world, Algonquin Provincial Park is home to more than 2,400 lakes, 750 miles of rivers and streams, 14 interpretive trails, and eight campgrounds. Whether car camping at one of the popular family-friendly RV sites or canoe camping in the backcountry, this is an exceptional destination for fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and birdwatching.
Bonnechere Caves
This unique geological feature is one of the best sights in the area. The caves were formed by the power of the Bonnechere River over thousands of years and now feature funky rock formations and mesmerizing underground waterfalls. Visits are by guided tour only from spring to autumn. Those visiting in early October might spot bats getting into position for early hibernation.
Bon Echo Provincial Park
Bon Echo Provincial Park offers one of the most unique attractions of any Ontario provincial park, home to Mazinaw Lake and its surrounding rugged cliffs, which feature ancient Indigenous pictographs. Campers can take boat tours to see them up close and then hike to the top of the cliffs for an incredible view of the lake. The park also has excellent swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and biking.
When to go
Most provincial parks and outdoor attractions near Renfrew operate on a seasonal basis, from mid-May to mid-October. Campers should note that evenings can be pretty cold in May and June, and again in September and October. The mosquitoes and blackflies of Algonquin Provincial Park are legendary in their ferocity in late spring and early summer. Renfrew’s annual Renfrew Fair in September brings live music, carnival rides, and livestock showcases to town, while early October is the best time to admire the autumn colors around Algonquin (which gets very busy with weekend daytrippers).
