The well water is clean, pure and delicious. We are excited to share this Alberta wilderness with like-minded outdoor-type individuals who enjoy community glamping. There are two beautiful lakes (Battle Lake and Pigeon Lake) within a 10-minute drive that offer boating, fishing, beaches, biking and walking trails.
Our property is about 1 hour south of Edmonton, Alberta.

Please review our pictures You will see 2 of our painted buildings - when you see these buildings from the gate, you will know you are at the correct farm.
Our Alpacas & Llamas are not 'halter broke'; however, love to visit our guests when they arrive. Pictures & videos are welcomed; however please share with the Hosts. Everyone must wear 'closed toed shoes", around the animals.
With lots of space for kids to play, families may take long walks to our 'spring' (sorry no swimming; only for inspiration, peacefulness & wildlife) while picking wild Saskatoons, Raspberries & Rosehips (in season).
Please note our farm is 'fragrance free' - no colognes, perfumes, scented deodorant or scented bug spray. We have 'outdoor bathrooms' for your use when one is not enough. We have tables & chairs to eat your lunch &/or snacks (bring own), as we do not offer food for sale. Smoking allowed in your camper unit(s) only. NOT TENTS.
We have alpaca products & a variety of gifts for sale - such as: hats, mittens, socks, insoles, scarves, yarn, & raw fiber. We accept donations towards the health maintenance of our animals, as well. Payment accepted by cash or electronic transfers (e-transfers) in either currency of Canadian or U.S. dollars - NO exchange rates will be offered (U.S. dollars are the same value as Canadian dollars).
We are close to several local towns with full services - including hospitals, gas stations, water & sewage removal stations, grocery stores (West Edmonton Mall), restaurants, etc.
Pets are welcomed - dogs &/or cats, however they must be on a leash, cleaned up after, well behaved, and MUST BE PRE-APPROVED FIRST before request is confirmed, depending on their age & breed.
We are putting together for overnight campers, a multi-cultural recipe cookbook which will be shared on our website. We hope you would like to share either a menu item which you cook while travelling or something you make at home with everyone.

The property is very picturesque. And the alpacas and llamas are of course adorable.
Absolutely would recommend staying at this location.

We loved camping at the Secret Sanctuary! We brought our own glamping and got the breakfast delivered to your site as an add on. Absolutely delicious! The whole experience and vibe of this place is really something special. We were looking for a getaway close to the city that offered privacy (which is hard to find these days) and were not disappointed. We want to bring the whole family next time we come! The hot shower and compost toilets were great, the trails and nearby lakes were awesome for exploring, and Denika and her family were so friendly and helpful. 5 stars! Also make sure to check out the store for amazing salves, delicious teas, and cute pottery!

The weekend was wonderful. The glamping tent was beautiful and the bed was cozy warm. The morning breakfast was amazing. We enjoyed sitting around the campfire being visited by a llama! We walked the trails and hugged a tree. Great time. Thankyou you Denika and family.

it was a wonderful experience! we had a two-day family vacation in the third suite with our own tent, but after we looked around the area and saw what the owners offer, we will definitely come back without a tent ;-) Very spacious, friendly, great trails for walking and everything you need for a wonderful vacation and even more! We highly recommend it!!!

This was our first tent camping experience. We travelled almost 3 hours to this place based on the reviews. Spent 2 nights and 1 day. Loved this place:
- Privacy and safety: 5/5
- Cleanliness : 5/5 : Eco toilet is something you have to deal with during the stay.
- Host: Super helpful 5/5
- Noice: 3.5/5 - it was generally quiet, but last day there was a party which lasted till 12 AM.
I would recommend this place for anyone who prefers a place which is clean, safe, and private❤️

Weekend Trip to The Secret Sanctuary
We absolutely loved it. The Birch Glamping tent was our home this past weekend. Truly glamping, the tent was had all the comforts of home, very clean and the bed and futon were very comfortable. Denika and her family are so friendly and welcoming you felt right at ease immediately. This is such a beautiful, quiet and peaceful escape you will want to book your next stay there, I know I will be.

I really I liked it there. The Lama roaming around was really cool. I was hoping they would visit our site, hopefully next time. We really enjoyed meeting the dogs as well. The chain saw sound was not great during the day. That was the only draw back. I would go again!

The Secret Sanctuary could not describe this beautiful property any better.
Hidden down a road just 10 km from the west side of Pigeon Lake, we found an amazing spot to spend a night while doing some motorcycle camping.
The host were so great to deal with and very quick to correspond......even though our booking was after 6 pm pn a friday and very last minute.
The sites are immacualtely kept, the scenery is stunning...... and ammentities great. Newly built and well kept outhouses with hand sanitizer and even lavendar flowers. Running water with stainless steel sinks and a dish cleaning area. Even dish soap to help with the cleaning. The details we noticed were in the small things. Such as cardboard and paper included with our pre-paid firewood all waiting for us on our site for arrival.
We were thoroughly impressed and plan on making this a regular stop on our travels. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot to spend a night or many nights in Central Alberta.
Thank you again for your hospitality and beautilful space to enjoy.

Barbara's land offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning natural beauty and a serene atmosphere. My friends and I had an unforgettable stay and truly appreciated Barbara's warm hospitality, along with the cheerful presence of her friendly dog, Fox.
The property is a wonderful place to relax, though the bathroom facilities could use some updating. Overall, it’s a delightful spot that I would gladly recommend!

Charming chalet with a spacious deck overlooking a serene pond. Bright, clean interior with a well-stocked kitchen. Fantastic outdoor space perfect for barbecues and campfires. The kids had a blast on the trampoline. Fox is the sweetest, most friendly dog we’ve ever met. Fox remained calm and gentle, even with our feisty puppy around. Loved the Finnish sauna.

We loved loved our stay. Such nice people and the tent is amazing. We went in May and at 5 degrees at night it was pretty cold. So we recommend heaters if you’re not carrying it. But other than that if was fantastic.
