This central location provides an ideal basecamp close to the Terlingua Ghost Town and both Big Bend State and National Parks. The unique geology and topography of the Goat Pens made this a popular movie set and many westerns were filmed here in the 80's and 90's. Come out and enjoy seclusion, peace and quiet, awesome scenery with sunrises and sunsets to die for. All while still being able to easily take advantage of the area's other attractions. The Goat Pens includes an outdoor events venue that hosts concerts, stargazing parties, festivals and weddings. The Goat Pens also has the only drive-in movie theater in the Big Bend area. The Goat Pens
Beautiful place.
We had a great time camping on the ranch. When we showed up there was a sand storm going on, but luckily it died down while we explored the area. It was easy to come and go from Big Bend national park. At night the star gazing is stunning. We had gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from the camp. The outdoor showers feel great, and the pit toilets were much better than a port-a-pot. We’d definitely go back.

The Goat Pens
Fantastic location, clean bathroom and the shower was a great reprieve of the dirt gained by exploring. Centrally located, close to town as well as Big Bend NP.

The Goat Pens
Beautiful views, clean bath spaces, amazing wood bundles. Great location but still feels off the grid. Directions are easy peasy. First-come, first-serve sites.. recommend arriving early when can to grab up the best spots on super windy days for added coverage. Not the first time I've stayed on Jeff & Rachel's land and it certainly won't be the last! My go to camp spot in Terlingua!

Arrived at night but had no problem finding the place and settling in. In the morning we could see what a beautiful spot - loved the landscape and also the amenities.

4.9 stars!!
Jeff and Rachel’s site was beautiful! It felt so private because it was surrounded by hills and we found the perfect spot that was a good distance from other campers. The bathrooms were clean, sometimes a little smelly, but they are pit toilets so that’s to be expected. The showers are outdoor showers, also clean but we only got hot water 1 night. The Goat Pins are also super close to everything! It took us about 10 min to get to the entrance of the Big Bend, 5 min to the gas station, and maybe 7 min to terlingua ghost town.
