Seems pricey at $40/ night plus tax and $13+ hip camp fees.
Close to where we wanted to be and the city of Knoxville.
Camp sites can be muddy and wet after a good rain.
Only amenities were a clean portapotty.
I did not realize until I arrived that I had actually stayed here 2 years ago at $20/ night.
Location is the big positive here.
Great campsite with a little privacy from the main sites. Awesome to camp just a few yards from the creek and fall asleep to the sound. The center section of the site was a little muddy during our stay, but we've also had a ton of rain recently so that was to be expected. Location is very convenient to downtown. 15-20 minutes to the UT campus, zoo & more.
Great stay! Group campground was private despite the campground being relatively close to Knoxville. Camped right next to a beautiful creek. It was wonderful that a picnic table and fire pit were provided at the site. Would absolutely stay again.
The creek at this spot was really nice to listen to while we slept. The ditch was a little scary but totally manageable to cross, even after a night of rain. The spot is pretty damp with tacky soil all day long, thankfully we brought a towel to wipe things with. There are 4 maybe 5 trees for hammocks and a few flat spots for tents.
Awesome campground just minutes from all the breweries and restaurants in South Knoxville. A couple minutes further and you're right in downtown. But it still felt remote and peaceful. Truly a perfect place to set up camp for a few days of mountain biking, climbing, hiking, and swimming in and around Knoxville's Urban Wilderness. The group site was big and right next to a little creek that was absolutely wonderful. Nice picnic table and a fire-it with a grill grate to cook your dinner. I brought my tent, but opted instead to hang up my hammock in two trees right on the edge of the water. Wonderful little piece of serenity in Knoxville. Would absolutely camp here again.
Perfect for families or a group
We loved that the group site was tucked away from the other campers. The creek ran right around our site and had a shallow area for our kids to play without any worries (8, 10). The one thing our whole family agrees we loved most about camping here was the firefly's. It looked like hundreds in the trees at night flickering and we were just in awe.
The directions were easy to follow. Our van scraped a lil in the dip to get there but it's old so we didn't care. It has stores close by and was an easy drive to Knoxville. The property is in a quiet area and we felt safe. If we're ever in town again we'd definitely campout here.
Super close to baker creek preserve
The group site at Kat's place is perfect for a group - has a picnic table, fire pit, and large area for multiple tents. The water spigot is over by the carport area, a quick 1 minute walk, but not at the site itself. Located super close to bike trails like Baker Creek Preseve and Knoxville's Urban Wilderness trails.
Perfect little getaway
This was the perfect campground for us! We were close to home, so campers and friends could come and go as needed. We were close to restaurants, grocery stores, kayaking, bike riding, etc., and yet it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. The site provided everything we needed.
