Gleneden Family Farm is a working farm in the western foothills of the great divide, near Cunningham's Gap just 1.5hrs from Brisbane. With only 7 campsites spread over 640 acres, Gleneden is ideal for campers looking for a family friendly, relaxing, crowd free, peaceful farm escape. We grow nutritious, delicious, ethical, organic food (available at the farm shop) and have a range of friendly farm animals including horses, cows, pigs, sheep, chooks - often free-ranging around the farm. You can visit the farm animals, explore the natural woodland, swim in the waterhole, relax beneath the waterfall or even help out with the farm chores. There are also great mountain bike tracks through the forest. Friendly and well behaved pets are welcome.
We farm using a combination of traditional farming crafts and the most innovative organic, regenerative techniques available. With no chemicals, few machines and a wide variety of friendly farm animals Gleneden is a place for families to reconnect with nature and farm life. We enjoy sharing our farm, both with campers and day visitors to our working bullock team displays and farm tours.
Beautiful North Branch Creek runs through Gleneden, with pools, riffles and a waterfall. Native Eucalypt woodland covers two thirds of our property. We value and work to enhance the great natural biodiversity and beauty in our valley.Â

Beautiful property with fantastic hosts. Little cascades. Lots of farm animals to keep the kids entertained. Large flat sites
The 2wd camp spot that we had was private (despite being open) spacious and clean, close to the shady creek that you can hear flowing all the time, and close to the clean toilet that was well maintained. There was a fire pit with logs to sit on and several areas to place the tent/tarps. There were geese, chickens, a goat and three sheep that slept close by (loved this!) and one night the cows slept close too (they are so beautiful!). The same creek on the other side of the property had little waterfalls and was deep enough for a good swim. I loved waking before dark to the roosters crowing! You can walk around the property and go by the pigs and piglets on the other side of the creek - they are very cute. We will be back to camp and explore more, and to volunteer. Absolutely loved this place and didn't want to leave!
We loved tent camping right amongst the farm animals. A beautiful spot. One of the best weâve been to. Creek is amazing for swimming. The spot is private with only a few other camp sites scattered around the property. Hosts are friendly, thanks to Rohan for letting us join in on milking the cow, Teresa. Also enjoyed all our organic take home produce from the farm shop. Sausages were delicious. Will definitely be back.
This is now my favorite camp site and will be hard to ever beat. We all loved watching the animals and learning different things about farm life.
The running creek is amazing to cool off in. I canât wait to come back again.
The organic meat was absolutely amazing.
I had a lovely, relaxing time and would be happy to return. If there were other campers here I did not even know about it. My own space, beautiful views, cool breeze, a running creek and some animal friends made it a great place to visit. The hosts were friendly and welcoming with the farm house only a short walk away if you need anything. Toilet is rustic but adequate.

I absolutely loved my time there. It was peaceful and relaxing. Fiona gave me the full tour of the farm, teaching me all about sustainable and ethical farming. Loved the animals, the creek was stunning and was perfect on a summer day. My favourite thing was waking up to the sound of the pigs and rooster in the morning. One of the cows was a bit noisy on the second night but Rohan didn't hesitate to move her to another paddock for me. 100% I'll be back.
We had a one night booking and intended to 'swag' it for the weekend with our two small dogs. Our site - Creek Side - was not what we called suitable for camping as it had not been mowed for ages. The grass and weeds (inclusive of prickles etc) were quite high and we would have lost our dogs in the jungle. We spent time trying to find another site that may be suitable but unfortunately they were worse, this time with up to waist high thistle bushes everywhere. We booked 4-5 weeks in advance so the host had every opportunity to have presentable and usable sites for his guests. We decided not to stay and spoke to the host about a refund. Whilst he then offered to mow a site for us, we declined as honestly, we had had enough and it was hot and we didn't want to wait another hour. He was not prepared to offer us a refund as he honestly thought the sites were ok. THEY WERE NOT. We also felt the property had a 'neglected' and 'run-down' feel to it, so no, we would not recommend it. I'm sure there's other, more beautiful, places to camp.
Rohan and family were gracious hosts and gave us plenty of peace and quiet to relax and enjoy the beautiful farm stay. We relaxed by the fire and slept to the sound of the running creek. We were greeted daily by friendly cows, pigs, and Wilbur the farm dog. Had the opportunity to freshen up in the lower parts of the creek and cool down under the little waterfall.
Will happily come back!

We respect Micheal's right to his opinions but do not believe this review is fair or accurate in it's observations or complaints. Please read our other reviews and draw your own conclusions. After our interaction with this couple, on the same afternoon, we photographed three of the sites they rejected (they had a choice of seven but these would have been the first three they saw being nearest to our entry gate). Please contact us for these photos.
