Dam Crazy? You would have to be to bypass over 620 acres of scenic bushland off the beaten track for your next camping getaway or stopover on your way on the Bruce Highway.  An abundance of birdlife with over 103 different  species found so far including a Powerful Owl. A magnificent 400 megalitre dam that now forms part of the natural landscape of this unique property.

A hidden gem in the Wide Bay/Fraser Coast area of Queensland where relaxation,  peace and privacy are unavoidable as are the sunsets and shooting stars in the clear skies above.

The property is totally private and caravans cannot been seen from the road, the owners live on the property and only booked guests are to enter the property offering security and peace of mind.

Whether you want to birdwatch, kayak, fish (catch and release only), hike or ride one of the many trails or sit, relax and read your favourite book, we promise a warm welcome; from the wildlife and the proprietors Miranda, Brendon and Esa the dog.

Dam Crazy is also pet friendly, dogs must be cleaned up after and may be walked off leash on the walking trails (please be mindful of other campers, farm animals and wildlife), they may also swim in the dam but must be contained or kept on leash in the campsite areas.

The dam is very deep and could have snags washed down in floods, so we suggest children wear life jackets, and MUST be supervised by adults at all times around the water.

Numbers are limited to ensure you have plenty of space and privacy!

No charge for children under 5 years no need to book

Campers must take all waste with them.

Very good cellphone reception

This is a fabulous spot to camp! Overlooking a lake with abundant birdlife. Just sit back, take a swim or kayak around the lake in kayaks supplied f.o.c. Take a bushwalk to the billabong and look for frogs. Friendly, helpful hosts. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
PS: They keep the numbers to 50 people so you will never be crammed in, plenty of room for everyone with room for privacy.

Returning from the bush walk, heading back to our campsite.Antics of the geese and guinea fowl kept us entertained.Found this little guy (and he was very little) near the billabong on the bush walk.Another aspect from where I was sitting at our van.

This was our second stay at Dam Crazy & it didn’t disappoint.
Brandon & Miranda are excellent hosts.
Always a great stay, clean toilets & nice big dam to swim on those hot days.

What a great place to visit. Open, tidy campsites - all with a view, spotless toilets too. Miranda and Brendon are very welcoming and provide a clear outline of some very small guidelines. They were so helpful when an unexpected issue arose with a fellow camper. Booking was effortless with quick confirmation Well worth a stay.

This is the second time I have stayed at Dam Crazy. My dog and myself enjoyed our last week there. Hosts Miranda and Brendon are the nicest people. Not a lot of flat sites but you'll manage.
