Marmot Basin is a ski resort located in the breathtaking Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. It offers a wide range of skiing conditions with an average snowfall of about 400 cm (157 inches) per season, which typically runs from November to early May. The terrain at Marmot Basin caters to all skill levels, with a good mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert runs. While it does not have a dedicated terrain park, it does offer natural features that park enthusiasts can enjoy. There are no specific backcountry areas within the resort boundaries, but the surrounding national park provides ample opportunities for backcountry exploration. Cross country skiing is not available at Marmot Basin, but can be found elsewhere in Jasper National Park. The resort does not offer night skiing. Marmot Basin's lift system includes 7 lifts, including 3 high-speed quads, ensuring good access across the mountain. The views from the resort are stunning, with panoramic vistas of the Canadian Rockies. Marmot Basin is considered family-friendly, with ski and snowboard lessons available for all ages. While the resort itself does not offer ice skating, snowshoeing, snow tubing, snowmobiling, or sledding, some of these activities can be found in the surrounding Jasper area, making it a great winter destination for a variety of interests.
