The Murrays of Trilby Station have called the banks of the Darling River home for 7 generations now, grazing merino sheep since 1860. An authentic family run property offering guests a unique outback experience and a glimpse into their way of life not often accessible to outsiders – all with the comforts of home.
We offer secluded river and billabong campsites through HipCamp and fully renovated Stockman's Cottages and the Shearer's Bunkhouse through our own website. Our campsites all feature a firepit and wood to get you started ( then you gather more in as required or bring some with you), rubbish and recycle bins and a long drop loo nearby. Bathroom/laundry and camp kitchen are a short drive away from the camps.
While their accommodation is great, the experience of Trilby Station is what people really love and talk about ..the scenic river, the private waterfront campsites complete with firewood, the self-guided Mud Map drives around the station, Liz’s wholesome country style meals, the cosy cabins, catching yabbies and fish, the birdlife & wildlife and Liz!! Yep – me ... fancy that!

Dunlop Station is an historic property located on the Darling river. Once a million acres, it has a 45 stand shearing shed which was the first shed to have mechanical shears.
Dunlop Station offers un-powered campsites along the picturesque Darling River. You won't get much better than our campsites very close to the water and shearers huts are available to stay in. Bookings are required.

We had a lovely site on the river. Fantastic fishing - we caught plenty of carp and some yellow belly. Host Kim was so friendly and really went that little bit extra to ensure guests were happy. Will definitely return

Hosts go out of their way to ensure guests enjoy their stay
Felt the washing machine and provision of generatored power in the bathroom was unnecessary - some guests will always take advantage of anything free like running the generator all day to top up their power bank boxes!

Excellent setup, huge sites. Lovely welcome with startup fire pit and information pack.
Unfortunately we only stayed one night which we regret so we will be definately coming back for a longer stay.

Camping anywhere along the Darling River is amazing. Staying at Trilby Station takes it to another level. Liz is very welcoming and generous.
The campsites are large and well dispersed along the river.
We highly recommend Trilby Station to anyone venturing into the outback.

Beautifully maintained campsite and amenities. I stopped in here for 1 night on a road trip and my only regret was I didn’t stay longer. Liz was also very helpful. Also don’t follow google maps to get here or you might get bogged!

Liz, thank you for being so generous with all that you’ve built. I’m in awe, I’ve no idea how you keep everything so tip top and clean. Honestly, the most thoughtful camp we’ve ever stayed. So beautiful, so private and shout out to the sun, the stars, the pizza oven and the animals for putting on a show. Can’t wait to be back and camp along the billabong.
