The Wild Rose site is one of the sunniest locations on the farm and located in it's own 2 acre field.

A fire ring and picnic table will be waiting for you. From the front of the site you can see one side of our market garden. Depending on the season you will see tulips, beets and onions sprouting, tomatoes climbing up their trellis, melons soaking up the sun or corn and sunflowers waving in the wind. The bees from our colorful hives will be busy pollinating the crops and gathering nectar.

Off to the left and tucked into the trees are our chicken coops. Our hens and roosters play an important role in the sustainable agricultural practices we use on the farm.

Our lovely ladies provide us with delicious and colorful eggs each day. Your breakfast at the farm can't get any fresher... sunny side up eggs dripping yolk onto fresh local bread, fresh seasonal fruit still warm from the sun, sweet honey and local milk in your coffee. A true farm to table meal is possible year round in our beautiful valley! We offer a breakfast basket full of goodies from our farm and other local growers.

Right from your site you can walk down into our lush forest.  Follow the mowed path behind the site to the bush wack trail or feel free to wander our woods. If you are quiet you are certain to see birds, squirrels, chipmunks and deer as you walk along the creek and explore the mossy rocks and tiny waterfalls. If you follow the marked bush wack trail you will be guided over fallen trees and through breaks in the historic rock walls then, across the creek and up the hill you will come out onto the O&W Rail Trail. This 27 mile trail is perfect for hiking, biking and strolling. In some segments it is smoothly paved and others it is gravel. From this trail you can access multiple parks, libraries and museums if you are looking for a long hike or ride.

We are centrally located between Kingston, Kerhonkson, Woodstock and New Paltz and all are about a scenic 20 minutes drive.  The NYS Thruway is a less than 10 minute drive away if you are travelling through.

The Rondout Valley is home to multiple breweries, amazing restaurants, luxurious spas, places to kayak, fish, swim... or you could spend your entire visit at the farm reading a good book and enjoying beautiful sunsets.

-We are a working farm that uses sustainable organic methods.  There are bugs (ants, ticks, bees, mosquitos, etc) and areas with long grass.  We keep the grass at the campsites short but you will have long grass around you.  That long grass is home to numerous kinds of birds that only live in that type of habitat.  Poison ivy is also possible when out in nature, we do NOT spray any chemicals on ANY of our land.

-The sites are within earshot to the chicken coops, we DO have roosters and you WILL hear them.

-There are wild animals around the farm.  You should store away all food and garbage when you are not at the campsite.  We would like to keep them cautious of humans and not a nuisance!

-On holiday weekends we do have a minimum night stay.

We had a great time camping on Kara’s land. 10/10 spot for star gazing! They also had chickens, roosters, a turkey, and a cat we’d occasionally visit. Thanks for having us!

This is our 2nd time staying on the farm and it even exceeded our expectations the 2nd time. Kara is always so responsive and so friendly. She helped accommodate our big group and set some surprises up for my partner’s birthday. The breakfast basket was AMAZING as always. We will continue to come back and stay here many more times and recommend Kara and their farm a thousand times over. Go check out their chickens!

My son and I had a wonderful weekend camping at Stony Rose Farm. The site was remote but open. The property was very well kept and loved the little touches like the welcome packet for the property, chicken facts and access to fire wood. Kara was so friendly and taught us all about the chickens. We cooked up the freshest eggs for dinner that night.
