Site 6 - Rootwad RV Park & Campground deluxe
RV - Site 10 - April 12-14
This is very secluded area high onto of a hill. There are 11 campsites that have electric, water and sewer. They are close together and there are no tree's around for shade. If you want to get to the Niangua River, you have to walk down a long steep gravel hill. It is really beautiful once you get down there. Or you can turn right at the entrance and drive about a mile and there is a nice big spot to fish, swim or have a picnic. Do not follow mapquest to get to this campground. We made that mistake and took D highway and almost didn't make it. The road is bumpy, no shoulder and has several big hills we almost didn't make up even with 4 wheel drive. Follow the directions that are provided. Make sure you have everything you need before you get here. It is at least a 20 min drive to the nearest town. Overall the weather was very nice. Collecting about 10-12 morel mushrooms.

Camping at Site 14
I really enjoyed camping at this site. It was quite and serene and the site we chose was just a little ways off the river. My friend and I enjoyed getting in the river and sitting by the fire after a long day of hiking at nearby Ha Ha Tonka State Park.

Site 14 - Riverbend Primitive Plus
So private , so pretty! I will absolutely bring a few friends next time. Hanging out at the low water bridge during eclipse was great! The views and space would take me back again for sure! Easy to get firewood, which was nice.

Amazing!!!!
what an amazing place. We enjoyed every single second staying there and Steven was great in his fast responses and had done a fantastic job on the place. I would highly recommend staying here. Nice clean place had everything you needed and nothing you don't. The showers were great, Beautiful quiet stay, I honestly don't think I get enough words to say everything great about this place. If you're looking for a quiet get away where y you can just relax, this is the place for you. We will for sure be going back to camp. Someone mentioned the climb up the hill, shew weee and it is a climb but the view at the river access, oh my it was gorgeous. Don't let the climb stop you from going down to the river access you will not regret it. Steven you have done fantastic. If you stick with the "leave no trace" this campground will be amazing for years to come!
