This is a 76 acre "farm" that has been allowed to rest for the last 20 some years, surrounded by large agricultural fields. There are areas of pasture, woods, and wetlands. This is a very rustic piece of property, with no amenities. Just a chance to get away for some fresh air.

Secluded stay close to metrodetroit
The wide open views were amazing! Great for star viewing! We came after a week of rain, so we stayed near the front, where there was a firepit and 2 picnic tables. It was great to explore the property and see all the wildlife it attracted. Lots of birds and waterfowl and even a few deer. It was a great option for us as a close getaway for some weekend camping!
A true wellspring for our state. Thank you for sharing it with the public and keeping it affordable. This was my second time at Wild and Free, the added fire ring amenity was very helpful. Beth is a great steward of her land with a great hands off approach that I truly appreciate. In late summer early fall, Skeeters are still pretty crucial for the day, but they give up their ghost for a serene tranquil night. Thank you for sharing Beth!!!!
This was my second stay here. We live in downtown Detroit and this place is so convenient for a quick getaway. There is a treeline running between two fields. We set up on the east side this time to get some shade during the 90° heat wave.
Just like before, we had total privacy. We took advantage of the fire rings Beth has available. Those helped with the mosquitoes as they are pretty bad all over this summer. I'd like to come back in the winter and see the fields covered in snow.
Wild & wonderful
Wonderful property! It's exactly as described. There's plenty of room to find your own campsite and it's really quiet toward the back (north). Venture cautiously if your vehicle doesn't have 4WD/all-terrain tires.
