[to reduce cabin turnover and number of meet and greets we do, we require a two ideally three night minimum unless there is one night open, *pls specify* when requesting to book that there is only one night avail. ty!] Make your home in a rustic cabin in the quiet Maine woods, steps away from the ocean overlooking the mountains of Acadia National Park. Watch the sunset while cooking a meal. Take a dip in the ocean and warm up by a beach fire. Disconnect and relax, take in the view, vastness of the stars, slowing of time, ample peacefulness.

Please read through site description, as booking this site requires reading to best prepare you for a good trip. Site description is subject to change between seasons; please review listing prior to your upcoming booking.

Rustic cabin with a deck platform steps off a beach in a calm bay, adjacent to several miles of hiking trails and walkable beach. From site are views of the surrounding mountains and islands. Site is facing west for sunset views. Sunsets on a clear day are spectacular. A-frame is 'off-grid' (no real heat, electricity or running water, wifi) and unplugged, it is simply just a structure; pls enjoy plugging into nature. Please note there are screens in the cabin and pack bedding accordingly.

6 acre property has preserve forest with hiking trails on two sides with 65 acres to explore. We are located 10 minutes away from the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia Nat'l Park. Short walk to hiking trails onsite, 15 minutes drive to Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia and 45 minutes from Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island.

**Bookings WILL OPEN 3 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE DAY to avoid unnecessary cancellations, check back three months prior to your desired date at midnight PST as I cannot hold dates for you. Please note current nightly rate reflects off-season pricing as rates will increase for peak season.  Please note cancellation policy.**

****For summer 2021 we are removing a previous site and replacing it with a Gypsy Wagon Caravan tiny home site. If you miss your desired dates check back for the new cabin listing in Mid-June. Any general q's regarding temps, weather or bugs please defer to google. If you wish to book summer dates, pls set a reminder in your calendar as I unfortunately cannot hold dates for you.****

ABOUT THE SPACE:

- outdoor woodstove & two burner Coleman camp propane stove, cast iron skillets (2) and waffle iron are provided

- during summer months only you must BYO water; no external spigot on property. we are happy to refill gallon jugs for drinking & lend a 1-5 gallon dispenser of water for drinking/washing for extended bookings, upon impromptu meet & greets or just ask ahead we’ll leave water for you at site

Contents: Site features a deck with 2 chairs and small tables. Cabin contains a two burner propane stove, cast iron pans, binoculars, grate for cooking over campfire, large table top/saw horses stored inside for meal prep/dining

Bed/bedding: A-frame cabin has a double bed on a bedframe with a waterproof (thus easily sanitizable) cover, rug, small table. Guests are urged to BYO bedding & pillows, an eco friendly and wallet friendly preference we strongly encourage. Linens pillows blanket/comforter and towels are however available for a $44 fee.

Lighting: A-frame has solar lights on exterior patio, electronic tealights for interior of cabin & a USB powered light, bring a charged battery pack for it. You may have a campfire on the beach or in a safe designated pit onsite in case of wind. Please BYO headlamp/flashlight and a sense of adventure. Do take care with blowing out candles and do not leave any open flame unattended inside cabin.

ARRIVAL: Sun is setting at six now and it is worth catching. Guest checking in after 8 PM will be charged an additional fee; pls plan your travel plans and accommodations to ensure to check-in before nightfall to avoid any confusion with finding and orienting yourself to the property and site. I can assure you from multiple numerous experiences checking in after nightfall is a nightmare for guests, leading to a less than ideal experience.

Winter/Fall: Trusty rusty teeny tiny outdoor woodstove on deck for cooking, gives ambient heat for warming appendages. Indoor buddy propane heater will take the chill off if run for any duration of time but pack accordingly with winter graded bags, cabin is uninsulated. For propane heater: BYO propane! we provide guests first 1 lb canister per booking during cold winter months, each 1 lb cylinder will last 3-6 hours, or opt to bring or rent a 15-20 lb tank from us. Cabin has ample venting & a smoke/CO detector. With windchill of any westerly wind it can get down well below freezing. Please prepare & pack accordingly. Extra bedding is located inside storage ottoman pouf, please let us know if you use it so we can launder it.

Wood: We stock firewood for sale for CASH or venmo, or byo.

Cooking: cook on the woodstove cooktop, over open campfire or on Coleman stove.

Location: Property has no immediate neighbors around but is surrounded by tranquil nature preserve with trails through woodlands that is open to public; a magical forest & walkable beach. Feels at most times like a private beach but site is not private. A-frame is away from the crowds of the park and just far enough off Route 1 that the noise of engines is barely audible. Lobster boats however will hum about the bay extracting their bounty from the sea. We encourage guests to fully maximize relax and spend their time here, rather than just using the site as a launching off pad for traversing acadia on MDI.

Privacy: Semi Private site. Bathroom is shared porto potty due to zoning restrictions and proximity to ocean. During the day you will likely encounter the seldom friendly hiker on the beach and trails on the neighboring preserve. More prevalent than hikers are deer, bald eagle, sea birds, wild turkey, friendly chipmunks, chattery red and black squirrel and the occasional porcupine. In the water are small whales, seal, loons, porpoise (dolphins basically), duck, heron, and schools of fish schoaling.

Cabin: is RUSTIC, from 70's, is also not hermetically sealed. In summer cabin is hot/cold proportionally to outdoor temps. You are camping. There are bugs. There will be a small woodland creatures or traces of them, please do not eat or store food inside the cabin! Pack accordingly. Maine has mosquitos, no-seeums, black flies, ticks, horseflies and fireants. I can't control this. Pack good bug dope and smoke em out! If you are looking for a more luxurious glamping experience with electricity and showers, look up Terramor in Bar Harbor. Closest campgrounds if we are booked: Acadia East, Acadia Seashore, Mainayr.

About us: We love hosting, making new friends, welcoming people to the property, and are happy to answer any questions about the area prior to your trip-- we provide campers with a Gdoc local's guide to The Point, the area & Acadia. We aim to provide a place for seekers of peace to gain a better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with Mother Earth & the planet that sustains us.

About you: self-sufficient experienced campers! (We work all summer so our ideal guests are self-sufficient, can read the full listing and onsite arrival ins prior to their stay here, please message us in case of emergency though).

Pets: We allow quiet dogs only no incessant barkers but all must be on-leash or strict voice command and watchful eye as we have outdoor pets near the main house. Dogs must remain at your site/side and are not allowed to roam free on the property.

Guests are responsible for leaving the site as they found it. We have a no-shoe rule in the cabin, slip them off. It’s been very rainy/muddy! Guests who violate rules, break anything or track mud on the carpet will be charged a cleaning fee.

This site is best suited for 2 adults; in an effort to have minimal ecological effects on the land if you have a bigger group you must book an additional site. In an effort to keep the peace and quiet we do not allow very small children at this site, unless your child can use an inside voice. Kids count as people; if they use the bathroom they leave a trace. We take a total weekly guest count and get our potty pumped appropriately or rent additional ones.

Pls keep in mind we are not a traditional campground we are a private residential home and wood lot, just homeowners taking care of some acreage and slowly restoring and building things. Love hosting guests. No showers but who cares, ideal for short term stays, go for a swim to freshen up or baby wipes. Not like a traditional campground with normal amenities, we aim for more privacy between sites for peace and quiet. If you have an RV or large rig we cannot accommodate you at this site, you must sleep in the cabin Booking this site confirms you have read full listing, cancellation policy, and that you and your party will adhere to all rules as stated. Guests will receive onsite arrival instructions upon approval of req to book; these instructions must be read prior to departure.

In your req to book include the word MAGIC to ensure you've read the full listing & some details about yourself; your age, if you've visited area before, level of camping experience. Thank you for reading!

Absolutely unreal. Not for inexperienced campers. Perfect location to escape the crowds of Acadia. Only feedback would be is to maybe provide a wheel barrel so we can bring down wood to the site! Other than that, perfection.

This A-frame is so sweet and charming. Everything was set up and waiting for us on our arrival- water, lanterns, matches, little lights and chairs with cushions out on the deck by the coast. We sat out on the deck at night with a fire in the wood stove, and our little lanterns, and enjoyed the freshest, most delicious lobster dinner (highly recommend this add on!). I love the way the cabin is styled, its not cluttered, but its beautiful and warm.

I woke up a few times and couldn't believe it was really the ocean I could see from my pillow. The whole space is beautiful and thoughtfully appointed. Lily and Daniel were fantastic hosts and I hope to return someday to this beautiful site.

Perfect, a gem of a place. We loved landing here for a two night visit to the Acadia area. We loved sitting by the water in the mornings and evenings. Super cozy cabin and beach all to yourself. Lily was helpful with recommendations and other tips to make our stay great. Would love to return.

Lily's spot on the beach was absolutely amazing! Gorgeous views and your closest neighbors are seals and seagulls.

I'd recommend bringing your own camping mattress to throw on top of the bed as it's pretty basic and not super comfy, but I wouldn't hesitate to visit again and recommend it to friends.

The A-Frame cabin was a wonderful place to stay! It’s a gorgeous spot to sit back and relax by the ocean, watch the tide change, and cook dinner outside at sunset. Lily was very friendly and accommodating :)

What an amazing location! Starting with the gorgeous sunset when we arrived on our first night, it was clear that this was a special place. Honestly wish we could have spent more time here, but it was great for a relaxing few days.
