Sounds Rivulet is a private bush campsite at Murdunna for people to enjoy while visiting the Forestier and Tasman Peninsulas. Campers can expect to have the entire site to themselves, shared with only the local wildlife. Only one group can book the site at a time. Sounds Rivulet is a small freshwater stream that runs all year round and is less than 100 meters from the campsite. Sounds Rivulet is pet friendly and campfires are allowed in the designated area on suitable days, not on total fire ban days. Please check the TAS Fire website for updates on fire bans. The campground has easy access for large vehicles with a turning circle, suitable for people with two-wheel drive cars, large cars towing caravans and boats, not for very large caravans ( a guest found it too challenging to get their car plus 9 meter caravan into the site) . There is a composting toilet for campers to use, please bring your own loo paper. There are also public toilets located 2km away, near the Murdunna shop which stocks a small range of groceries, supplies, and fuel. There is also a jetty and boat ramp at Murdunna. The campsite is centrally located and provides a perfect base to explore the natural beauty the surrounding area offers. A five-minute drive south will bring you to amazing views over the Tasman sea cliffs and the Cubed Coffee Van at Pirates Bay Lookout. A further two minutes south will take you to Eaglehawk Neck Beach. Dunalley Bay is a five-minute drive north and a perfect place to watch the sunset over the Bay. The Tasman Peninsula is home to world-class fishing and hiking, there are also a range of surf breaks for all abilities and a sheltered beach a short drive from the camp at Sommers Bay. A peaceful stay
A pleasant stay in the forest. You can hear the road noise, but it’s quiet at night. With the drought unfortunately the rivulet wasn’t running when we were there. Was great to be able to have a campfire.

Beautiful private campsite!
Very private site, and clean. Great campfire site, some wood provided but mostly byo. So great to actually be allowed a campfire! Toilet what you'd expect. Creek was low, but would be beautiful at other times, nice short walk down to it. We couldn't find the sign mentioned in directions, but still found the site no problem. Close to lots of different things to do during the days. Can hear the highway, but it's not a busy road overnight, so not a big deal.

A lovely stop for a night
Chris's camp spot was the perfect place for us to stop for the night. It was not far from the main road, which was nice as we had already driven a long way. When we turned into the road, we weren't sure if it was the right place. When I messaged Chris he called me right away to confirm the directions. The camp spot was very large, flat, and had nice trees around. We loved the privacy and peacefulness. Thank you, Chris, for sharing this space with us!

Clean quiet with a loo great place
Chris was a great host as was communication nice place to stay with a clean loo fire pit and some tree shade, privacy was the best, it was very clean we left it better someone a previous camper had thrown rubbish into the bushes we took ours plus there's very sad that this happens hope it stays clean now, abother camper had started a rock track to the toilet we added to the track all the way to the toilet making it easier for campers to find in the night time also we donated a couple of solar tiki lights at the beginning of the track near the fire pit hope other campers can ad to the track and Chris leaves the track there 😀 close to shop and dunnaley and the beach we enjoyed our stay and will be back again thanks Chris

Thoroughly enjoyed our camping
This secluded campsite was Fantastic for both our four legged family member and us humanimals. The location was perfect to explore the Tasman area. We stayed three nights - not enough time for us. Ensure you bring your own water, though you can buy locally. March flies were friendly however tis the season. You can hear the traffic during the day but you don’t concentrate on that & you’re out exploring anyway. Of a night time it is quiet. Great view from the drop toilet. Chris (host) was easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay again.

Great little relaxing bush camp! An excellent spot to base yourself and visit all that the Tasman Peninsula has to offer from oysters to historic sights as well as beautiful bushwalks and beaches. Great to be able to bring the dog along for the adventure.
