Sherwood River Camp
A great location to stay especially before/after catching the Spirit of Tassie. Beautiful outlook over the river and well maintained property. A short walk/ride to a suspension bridge and lots of mountain biking too. This is our second time staying here and would recommend. Sadly this time there were other people staying who blasted music well into the night and were extremely noisy and disruptive. I suppose you can find that anywhere but it was pretty unpleasant to camp next to.

Nice large relatively flat paddock beside the river. Broad enough so you can chose riverside or away from the river. Lots of clear space for those needing solar or shadow from trees for those that prefer it. Descent into and ascent out of site is daunting and needs 4WD low ratio if pulling a decent sized van out. Untested rainwater tap available on site. Good value for Hipcamp site.

Great spot next to the river and bike track, lovely walks, the only bad thing was the wasps, we like to cook and eat outside but as soon as you started cooking the wasps were there, hubby got stung, lucky he's not allergic! So as long as you don't mind sharing with wasps at this time of the year.

An idyllic, serene location on the bank of the river. Access to lovely walks. As wasps were active it would have been useful to be prepared to manage them. A minor problem but it would have been nice to be informed. Loved our glorious 3 days though. Highly recommend!

Sherwood River Camp
It’s a perfect place to camp. Beautiful river and views. Suspension bridge and adjoining bike track adds extra activities. Laid back atmosphere and a great central location to visit Cradle Mountain.
Only thing I’ll say is if you have a bee allergy don’t visit from March till middle of April. Wasps very active during that period. They aren’t aggressive. Ryan does everything he can to lessen their affect.

Lovely setting, but it had a huge wasp problem, if we had known we would not have booked, there were wasp baits around, but not enough to combat the problem, the swarming was disconcerting & I bitten several times, we had to leave camp during the day to get relief.

Lovely river for swimming and fishing, only downside was lots of wasps so if you’re allergic I’d not recommend, otherwise it’s lovely 😊

We are from WA and Had an awesome 2 night stay at River side camp.
Based ourselves here to explore the local area .
Access was via a reasonable step gradient down to the camp, gravel track , this could have some of the ruts filled and leveled at the moment .
The main camping area was level and grassed and the sites were big.
We jagged great spot over looking the river .It was a great outlook.
There were a lot of wasps about , I did get stung , but lucky that I am not Alergic to them , our dog also had an episode with one , but was ok .
Fire pits at every camp and can purchase bags of wood for $10 , honesty box system.
Was a great camp spot and would return .

This was our 3rd visit to Sherwood River Camp. We had perfect weather and enjoyed swimming in the river with our dogs, and relaxed evenings around the campfire with friends. The only downside was that the wasps were extremely aggressive this year, despite having our own wasp trap.
