Pine Ridge has been developed over the years to be a natural park land with a good variety of local vegetation including stands of mature trees. lower scrub has been removed for physical and viewing access and to keep the property more secure and manageable. The vegetation also provides significant protection on windy days compared to many other open places. Native animals and birdlife abound the location. There is a community pergola area beside the substantial water hole which has a small jetty allowing easy access for swimming. There is also a stone barbecue and fire pit area available on suitable weather conditions. There are ocean views from the property's main road areas, which also provide a large area of flat firm ground with large areas providing easy maneuverability and turning. The property is 2-3km from the main highway turn off that leads to the Douglas Apsley National Park. The corner of the property is only 50 meters from the park edge, with the Parks main access several km further along Rosedale Rd. The turn off is only 2 km from the town edge. It is sealed road except for the last 100meters and in good condition. Firewood is available at $15 per bag.Site marked "A" covers several acres and has ocean views to the East. The ground is level and firm of native grass over a stone base. To the East the ground gently slopes down to the swimming hole where there is a small jetty, sheltered enclosure and stone barbecue. There is also a fire pit that can be used when regulations allow. Caravans can locate closer to the water hole but not on the grassed area between the Jetty and sheltered enclosure.

Woulld like to have stayed longer
Tim is a very welcoming host oh his lovely large property. Very private and quiet. Need to be completely self contained as no facilities or water. Fifteen minutes drive to beaches and town of Bicheno.

The sound of silence at Pine Ridge
Great location, close to town. Sooo peaceful. Tim came around for a little chat which was nice. Shared some local history too. His son has made up bags of firewood from on the property so you can buy that to keep your fire pit going - which are also available for use, which Tim made himself. Heading up the driveway - to the left you have camp spots overlooking the huge dam. To the right of the driveway are ocean views to enjoy. We loved having our dog with us, walking around the dam, checking out the little island in the middle of the dam. So many different spots to set up, nice to have that choice, instead of being told where exactly to camp (like in a caravan park). Credit to Tim, beautiful setting for our weekend away, sheltered by the bush from the northeasterly winds, but still able to get all day sun. We loved it and hope to return with family when they’re available.

Pine Ridge
Tim is a perfect host and the property is quite delightful. It's a very private and quiet bush setting and the sites are well spaced. Need to take your own water and be self-contained. Only a short distance into the seaside town of Bicheno.
