We are on a 125 Acre property located halfway between Beachport (12km) and Southend (8km). There are a total of 19 sites available, divided over 2 separate listings, for SELF CONTAINED campers only (no toilets/showers/bins available). There is 4g Telstra reception available. For an ultimate deluxe experience on a large site, access to the natural swimming dam and complete privacy check out our Wombat Lakes Deluxe listing. Our property has beautiful walking tracks through the sand dunes. There is an abundance of wildlife including wombats, emu's, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, tortoise and countless birds as the Mullin Swamp is located just behind the property. This property is a must for wildlife and bird lovers!! The Beachport township offers Restaurants/shops and lots of places of interest. There are beautiful beaches, boat ramps and lots of 4wd opportunities in the vicinity. The Canunda NP, Beachport NP and Lake George are just around the corner. Robe is about a 30min drive and if you are looking for a bigger supermarket (Woolies) Millicent is only 20min away from us. There are public toilets at the Surf Beach nearby (10km) and a RV dump point in Beachport and Millicent. There are NO campfires allowed on the property. Gas stoves and gas BBQ's are permitted unless there is a total fire ban. Please enquire with us for the current fire danger rating. You are also welcome to bring your pet along, so long as they are on a leash at all times and don't disturb our animals. You won't regret your stay with us!!!

Toilets would make it a nicer place to stay. Even if it is a long drop 🙂🇦🇺

Awesome central quiet location
We loved the quiet central location of wombat lakes. The host Peter is just lovely. It's a very short drive to both Southend and beachport. We also done days trips to Penola , Robe and Naracoorte. It's has little hills and hollows on the.property giving each site more privacy. I would say 1-7 the best locations due to wind. There was no noise at all during the nights

Wombat Lakes
I stayed in Kangaroo #2 Site. The site is level, the sandy ground drains quickly, and it is away from the roadway. Access is easy. Perhaps the only thing to ask for is some shade trees or shrub wind break but, recognising that this is a very new Hipcamp site, it may take some time to get that.
