Camping with dogs.
It's a great spot. The river is really nice to explore. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon. It was really good having the toilet facility. We loved the peacefulness of the site as well. It was good being able to have our dogs without worrying about other campers, which can be difficult at caravan parks.

Lovely spot
Lovely spot to spend the weekend the river is beautiful and grounds were nicely kept. Everything was mowed and well maintained, the toilet block was very clean even with multiple groups staying.
The site was much busier then hipcamp would have you believe, the app said that 2 groups had booked but we were actually one of 7.
The night sky is Bortle 2 and only just shy of Bortle 1 so the star gazing was great though there were a couple of flood lights nearby. We managed some pretty great shots in the very early morning of the milky way over the mountains to the west.
This site is probably not suitable for 2WD or low clearance vehicles after rain but was fine while we were there. Google maps will try to take you down Herberton Petford Rd and eventually east on James Rd, this section is unpaved and not suitable for low clearance vehicles. Instead drive to Wondecla then west along James Rd, this section is paved until you reach Cassell Rd. A short drive along a dirt road will bring you to the property and then a trail will take you to the camp site at the back of the property again fine in the dry but would not be suitable for low clearance vehicles in the wet, be sure to shut the gate.

HIghPriceCamp Not Again
The first night was quiet, the second night not so much (more campers it was a long weekend).
We thought it was riverside camping but there is a fence with only one gate to access the river. No shower as stated in the description, cold or otherwise. River was a bit too cold to bathe in. We cut our stay short (booked 3 nights and stayed 2). If we had known there was no shower we would have taken our own. Value for money 2 out of 10 - Tourist park prices with bush camping facilities. It looks like they are thinking of making a shower area, even having solar to power it. But as of today, it's just a paddock with one eco-toilet for up to 20 - 30 people. (BYO Toilet Paper)
Herberton is not the friendliest town in QLD (that should be written under the welcome to Herberton sign). The walking tracks and museum were great, and the historic town was a must-do.

Chill-lax-ing time
Beautiful spot, isolated but still close to town. Plenty of room to camp. Kids loved swimming in the creek. Lots of bird life.
