Discover Sunset Ridge, your ultimate escape nestled just 8 minutes from Boonah in the picturesque Scenic Rim. Settle into our serene bush camping site spread across 57 acres of peaceful, rolling grassy fields, offering uninterrupted views of the awe-inspiring Border Ranges. Each of our five campsites, situated on a mowed 3-acre flat area, promises front-row seats to the most breathtaking sunsets imaginable. On clear nights, marvel at the brilliance of millions of stars illuminating the sky, providing an unforgettable stargazing experience. While our campsites are nestled in a cleared area there is ample shade from surrounding trees and a nearby koala habitat. The property boasts two large dams and a seasonal creek, perfect for nature walks and quiet reflection. Fire pits are available at each campsite (subject to fire ban periods), and a short stroll down a grass track reveals a hidden clearing with a communal fire pit—the perfect spot for mingling and sharing stories under the starlit sky. Just a stone's throw from Boonah, guests enjoy easy access to local cafes, a bakery, pubs, an IGA supermarket, and quaint shops. Explore nearby attractions such as Moogerah Dam and Lake Maroon, or indulge in a meal at the acclaimed Scenic Rim Brewery. For antique enthusiasts, the charming town of Kalbar awaits just 25 minutes away. Keep your eyes peeled for playful wallabies, kangaroos, and our friendly cattle, adding to the authentic farm-life experience. Please secure the gate behind you to ensure the safety of our curious residents. Remember, we're a self-contained camping site, so be sure to bring your own shower, toilet facilities, and drinking water. We kindly ask all visitors to leave no trace, taking all rubbish with them upon departure. While our location offers limited WiFi coverage (mostly 4G), embrace the opportunity to unwind, reconnect with nature, and savour the tranquility of Sunset Ridge. PLEASE NOTE: Our campsites are set at least 700m back from the sealed road entry and while we do maintain the natural grass “driveway” to the sites, it can be quite bumpy so we recommend that you take things slowly with a maximum speed limit of 10kmh. We regularly drive our Triton ute all over the block so it is suitable for 2WD and 4WD vehicles, however can be a bit slippery on the hills in wet weather (especially near the larger of the two dams). There is plenty of turning room for larger vehicles.A large flat area that accommodates 5 separate camp sites with incredible mountain views surrounded by rolling grassy fields and farmland. While other guests may be visible from your site, the area is large enough to ensure that you are far enough away from other guests to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Sunset Ridge Retreat

Everything was exactly as described. We only stayed one night and instead of a sunset got a storm, which added to the fun since we were all set up. In the morning a very curious herd of cattle came by to check the tent out, including some very cute calves.

Great spot!!!

Great spot!!! Great spot for camping, nice flat area. Sites extremely large. The view is stunning and the night sky even better. Had lovely visit from the cows!!! The dam is only a short walk for a nice paddle and swim. Easy directions to follow, friendly hosts, easy to contact. Definitely recommend.

Sunset Ridge is a stunning property with a nice grassy paddock that is relatively flat. The sunsets were spectacular and the cows were very friendly.

Sunset Ridge Retreat

Wow! Amazing views at this campsite. Lovely walks to do and a stroll to the dam is a must for bird life. The campsite is an open field and you will need to be self sufficient. The field is big so there is plenty of room that you wont feel close to anyone else. However, there are no trees for shade or privacy so bring the awnings and gazebo to cover that. Each site has its own fire pit. Boonah is only a few clicks up the road and the local pub is worth a visit. I was the sole camper there so it was quiet and peacefu, Get ready with a sundowner and watch the sky light up over the mountains..its breathtaking. Thanks Tracey for being such a warm friendly host I'll be back!
