Nearly bitten by big dog.
If your looking to hike Mt Maroon this is a good place to stay, reasonable prices with a good view of the mountain.
You'll need a 4x4 to get down to the campsites (my yarris couldn't make it) otherwise park before the gate and walk into your campsite, BUT beware of the dog that WILL try to bite you. There's a property located within the gates of Kingsland Campgrounds and they own a big black dog that will aggressively try to bite and attack you, it followed me halfway to the site trying to bite at my legs and barking like it wanted to eat me. The owners need to either keep the dog locked up or inform people there's a 90% chance of getting mauled, I would NOT recommend taking children anywhere near the site if you have to walk in like I did. If I didn't have a history of dogs and know how to handle myself the situation would've gone downhill very quickly. There needs to be some warning about this somewhere as the dog has free roam to access the campgrounds, it's unsafe for children or people afraid of dogs! (PS. I'm an animal lover and it's not the dogs fault, it's just doing its job, this fault lies with the owners of the property not keeping the dog secure and the listing owner for not mentioning a single thing about it)
