Tent Camping on South Muskoka River
Beautiful getaway!!
This is the perfect place to unwind for a weekend with friends or as a couple. The campsite is clean with direct river access. The stars are beautiful at night!! There is a outhouse, fire pit and a kayak and canoe. We really enjoyed getting outdoors!! The host was communicative and provided a site manual for our stay. We will be back in the future! Thank you for hosting us

Tent Camping on South Muskoka River
Beautiful site on the river!
We set up our tent in a nice flat open area near the river, dock, and fire pit. We explored the river in the canoe that Joanne provides, lounged in the hammock on the deck, and enjoyed a rainy morning in her screened porch next to her cabin. The river was deep, clear, and easy to paddle. 1.7 km downstream are some chutes or rapids. It's a beautiful destination! You can walk the road to the chutes, which is safer than paddling there. There are falls upstream too, but quite a bit farther. Cell service was limited but just enough to send and receive texts or a little browsing if you are very patient. We loved our stay here!

Toad Heaven!
Joanne’s land is beautiful. On the sunny side of a peaceful river surrounded by friendly neighbours is a lovely cottage with a beautiful yard filled with toads! We must have caught at least 30, it was a highlight of the trip for sure. In addition to the fun wildlife (we also saw some red squirrels, ducks and frogs!) there is a waterfall 20 minutes down the road where you can walk right up and see the water rush by. The neighbours are close on one side but they are a lovely family with great taste in music haha. There is enough phone signal (on both Rogers and Telus) to send text messages and make calls, but not enough for data. A perfect getaway from social media! It was a wonderful trip and we look forward to visiting again :)

Tent Camping on South Muskoka River
Dream-like property, honestly. You're located right on the river and have access to stunning dark-lit skies if you're looking to explore some astronomy. It feels like you're on a retreat when visiting and it comes fairly equipped with an outdoor kitchen, utensils etc. Take a canoe ride across the river too - highly recommended! Just be aware that the river ends in waterfalls so don't go too far left (when facing the river).

Amazing!
We loved every second that we were there! You park right where you camp, there's the cabin with utensils you can use, and the deck is just a few steps away! We will come back for sure!

Canada day weekend camp!
My gf and I had a wonderful camp on Johanne’s property. There’s lots of amazing scenery, including a dock which sits on top of the muskoka river giving you the perfect view of the sunset.
The extra amenities that came with it made our stay extra special, taking out the canoe for a joyous ride on a calm almost glass like river bed.
There is also a waterfall up the road, about a 30 minute walk.
Needless to say we will be coming back!

Tent Camping on South Muskoka River
A wonderful weekend away
Joanne's property was perfect for us. It is right on the water and has plenty of space to set up your tent. We were provided a canoe and life jackets which was fantastic for checking out the nearby rapids and small falls. It is on a quiet road that you can safely walk on. If you're looking to disconnect from the world it helps that the cell service is intermittent. We were so grateful that Joanne allowed access to her cabin to plug our phones in and boil water with the kettle. She was very responsive and provided all of the helpful information we needed for our stay. She was even so kind to check in on us as a bad storm was crossing over Ontario and she wanted to make sure we were safe. We loved how many outdoor activities there are within an hr drive from the location. We visited Oxtongue Ragged falls and the Lake of Bays brewery. The town of Bracebridge is only about 22 minutes from the property as well so if you forget any items it is very convenient to head into town to pick those up. We were so happy with our stay and hope to visit again in the future.

Joanne is a fantastic host!
It was clean and well organized. Having access to a canoe, was great! Lots of scenic trails around, as well.
Joanne was very helpful and kind. She is also smart and funny. :)
Barring unforseen circumstances, I will be sure to go back!

Great Camping Experience!
What a beautiful location! Great for camping for large or small groups. Very well equipped with everything you need. The nearby rapids on the river were spectacular! Worth the visit.

We had an amazing time at Joanne's camp on the river. Joanne was incredibly helpful with information on the surrounding area and the canoe + paddle board available made camping on the river a blast. We will definitely be coming back!

Peaceful and Relaxing
Joanne’s property was a perfect little getaway, a beautiful spot for tent camping. Nestled beside the river’s edge, the view was amazing and water perfect for a refreshing dip. Joanne was kind enough to offer a screened porch for our use and a canoe to explore the river. We loved her little touches and appreciated the tranquility of our stay.

Our stay here was amazing! The outdoor kitchen was awesome and the use of the screened in porch was so nice for the rainy weather we had. We loved the use of the canoe and enjoyed relaxing on the dock on the very peaceful river. Joanne was an amazing host and left us feeling so comfortable to stay here! Would definitely recommend. :)

Beautiful spot right on the river
Very peaceful location, beautiful spot right on the river. Great place for flat water canoeing and swimming. Nice open space for setting up a tent, great facilities - dock and multiple decks, access to the fridge in the cabin, outdoor prep area for cooking. Very helpful host with good communication. Highly recommended!
