This is a small working hobby farm, near the site of a historic park-George Rogers. The 1/2 mile trails are flat and clean but may have limbs or tree nuts on the ground. We have chickens and can provide fresh eggs as available if you are interested for a small fee. We will have bonfires as weather permits, also you can rent a large private camp fire site just for the evening. Sites are wheel chair accessible, but the trails are earth, not paved. All sites are walk-in, not able to park cars next to the camp site, I will help with out with my UTV if you have lots of gear. Learn more about this land: Separated sites for tents/hammocks, fire rings, some sites have picnic tables most have spool tables. Sites can accommodate 1-2 tents, and/or 2-4 hammocks. Have a rally site where larger groups can tent camp. Have private dirt hiking trails on site with many nearby county and state parks for more adventure. Canoe and kayak livery 1 mile away. Young’s dairy, Yellow Springs, 1800’s Carriage Hill a working Farm, Air Force Museum, Brandeberry Winery. Have a port a potty on sight, parking is near the entrance to woods. Plenty of wood on the ground near sites, or can provide split wood for a small fee. More than 4 persons per site will be an additional fee $3 per person. Campfire
We had the best time camping at orange moon this weekend! We stayed at campfire site and it was beautiful! Especially with the fall leaves. It felt very private was a little fall oasis. We went to yellow springs for the day before setting up camp and then went to cedar falls to hike after a night there: the perfect spot close to both! We will be back

Hot tent camping
We loved hot tent camping on Amy's land at Orange Moon. Amy met us at the property and showed us our camping spot. She was very cool and easy to talk to. She replied to messages quickly and was so kind to us. She had already delivered farm fresh eggs and firewood to our site. We loved meeting her dogs and playing fetch upon arrival and departure! The wagons provided make loading in and out a breeze! We explored the land and danced under the stars. It was a cold night, but we brought our hot tent with stove and found plenty of small wood to keep us warm through the night. BONUS: the potty was very clean (the orange moon on the door made us laugh). We were the only campers the night we stayed so it was very private and quiet. We'd love to camp again and meet some new friends. If you are looking for camping in the Dayton area, do not overlook Orange Moon!

I'd pass
After arriving I had a hard time finding my site, never did actually. The trail lacks signs. Way to many forks with no signs. Sites with no signs. Owners dogs ripped my tent trying to get into it. Will not stay again. I advise others to stay clear.

Relaxing evening in the woods.
Fantastic experience and communication. Amy met me upon arrival to show me the campsite and ensure I had everything I needed for an enjoyable stay. The site was nestled in the woods but still easy to access with the provided wagon. I highly recommend Orange Moon Camping!

Campfire
We stayed in Campfire. It’s a larger site with a nice fire pit and seating. The portapot is further away, but the site is great if you want seclusion and lots of trees. Very beautiful. Amy was very helpful and friendly. We liked the eggs and were able to find enough wood for a fire. Be sure to bring water. We highly recommend the hikes at Glen Helen and John Bryan. Hilly, lots of water, and nice infrastructure.

Our stay here was amazing! We booked hours before coming out to the Rose for a concert, they are close and convenient. Easy access into the sites and they’re prepared with carts if you’re in a group or extended stay. Lots of nature to enjoy here and nearby. We’ll probably come back for a hiking weekend.

We were able to fit 4 hammocks with room to spare. Plenty of room for several tents of needed, too. Amy was very nice and quick to respond. A lovely retreat away from home, but close enough to restaurants to not have to pack all meals.

The large orange moon that says visitor parking points to a grass dirt road on the right side of the trees. A Late arrival on our part arrived with dry firewood waiting for us at our campsite. Rolling wagons were waiting and very helpful to take our things along the wooded path to our secluded campsite. We were the only ones there, and had a memorable experience.

This was an awesome campsite. Secluded, quite, and peaceful. We loved how private it felt. The trees gave great shade and the walking trails were nice. We also got half a dozen farm fresh eggs delivered to our site for breakfast. We will definitely be coming back, we love how close it is to the canoe livery.

Absolutely Perfect! (Bailee's Port)
It truly does not get any better than this!!! Every spot seems like your own private backcountry camping site with a table and fire pit. The land and trails are beautiful and well maintained. It is the perfect peaceful getaway, but super close to John Bryan and Yellow Springs for day hikes and a stop at the Yellow Springs Brewery (only dog friendly patio I could find:) Thanks to Alan for sharing your land...Buddy and I will be back for sure!!!

K9 Cove
Peaceful and Rustic 10/10
Alan’s property is close to attractions, yet feels very secluded once you are in your spot. He did a great job at making every site fee very private. There is a trail that goes around the property which was a nice touch and a great place to walk the dog before bed. Alan was also very kind and informative, telling us about lesser known trails and restaurants, and information about the land. The land is very beautiful and rustic, and you do have to walk your equipment from the parking spot to your plot, which is about 1/4 a mile. It is not bad at all, but something to be aware of if you’re new to camping. To help, Alan provided carts to assist and even offered to help! The location is only an hour out of Columbus but you feel like you’re much further out. We will VERY likely be back for another trip, as we had a great time.

What an awesome host for our dispersed camping weekend. Alan has a wonderful chunk of land that he maintains very well. He is friendly, helpful, and has a ton of wonderful suggestions for exploring the area. He has also carved some paths through his wooded acreage for exploring around camp! His neighbors are awesome people too. If you get the chance to play catch with Rocky or give some love to Cora, Titus, or Skinny the cat, take advantage! They are all such sweeties and great with kids!

Great little getaway!
Great place for a nearby getaway. We were looking for a last minute memorial day camping spot and happened across this gem. The host Alan is very accommodating and hospitable. He also provided many suggestions on local places to visit if we were interested. We stayed 2 nights at The Great Oak site. It's a nice shady spot near the house and chicken coop. Alan let us park close to the site so unloading/loading was a breeze. Roosters weren't too loud, just the occasional crowing. Was actually pretty cool for this city girl. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Alan!

Erica's Lair
We had a super positive experience in Alan’s forested space! Alan was very nice, friendly, and accommodating - helping us find our spot and get our things out there. The campsite we stayed at (Erica’s Lair) was our own little wooded alcove - no issue with other sites around. The spool table at the site was really useful. The land is beautiful and the hiking trail was an added bonus. Hope to make it back soon.
