Our backyard campsite is only 9 km from the centre of Alice Springs. Its located in a rural/urban setting. Alice Springs is as famous for the personality of its locals and contemporary and traditional art as the natural wonders, including the stunning Larapinta Trail and the MacDonnell Ranges, which surround it. The Swag Inn camping spot has access to an outdoor shower and toilet and laundry sink. Enjoy the view of the ranges and the amazing stars in the desert night sky from your campsite. Listen to the bird calls and enjoy the peace. Campers are welcome to enjoy the BBQ Firepit and firewood, within local restrictions. Around town, there are numerous sites of historical significance to the region’s settler history, including the Old Telegraph Station Reserve, which marks the town’s important role as the mid-point of the 19th-century telegraph line running from Adelaide to Darwin. Out of Alice and very Peaceful
The Swag Inn at Ross (10 minutes from central Alice) is the best camp we have stayed in. The hosts (Kathy and Ashley) are amazing and extremely helpful with advice on Alice, the West & East McDonnells. Add the hot showers and super clean toilets. Some retro funky outdoor furniture and wood with a terrific communal fire pit. Birds waking you up in the morning in the very peaceful setting. Swag Inn is a terrific central hub to stay at. Great work guys. Keep up the terrific work.

We loved our stay at the Swag Inn, the amenities were fantastic, clean with devine hot showers and sparkling white toilets. Close to town central for resupply and see attractions but out of the burbs in nature for a safe nights rest! The atmosphere was welcoming and the host came to say hello and share her local tips Of things to do in the area.

Fantastic hub to explore
A very well presented and thought-out camp. Kathy and Ash were very helpful and gave us some great guidance on what to see in Alice Springs and the West & East McDonnell ranges. The camp itself has some very interesting / funky areas and an open fire to gather with other campers. Add access to 10A 12V Power, hot showers and clean amenities this is a fantastic place to stay. You feel very safe and the camp is very peaceful. We will be back and thanks again.
