Hideaway Ranch is a family owned farm that raises beef cattle. It is steep to broken country with many patches of bush. The bush is filled with a variety of native birds and introduced species such as pheasants, peacock and quails. During rainier seasons, there is a creek flowing through the property which we’ve named The Oasis. This is a lovely spot for a picnic. A steep trek will give you one of the best sweeping views of the Kaipara. We are currently developing improved access for 4wd camp sites. Access by plane is available to our private airstrip. Please Note access my be limited during wet weather, just get in contact to confirm. ThanksHidaway Ranch is situated 5min drive from town centre. Pitch your tent or park up the camper in privacy. Enjoy getting back to basics, Fire ring provided. Beautiful views of the stars on clear nights. Hike up the hill and take in the panorama views of the Kaipara area. This is a working farm and live stock is present around the place. Wood can be provided at an extra cost.

Hideaway Ranch

We had a wonderful time at Hideaway Ranch: Marty was the most welcoming host, he helped us finding (and driving to;) the best spot to camp and even gave us everything we needed for a camp fire. Camping in the middle of those beautiful green hills, watching the sunset and visiting his cattle on the neighbor hill was such a wonderful and peaceful (and real kiwi) experience. we absolutely recommend to camp here, and if in the area again will definitely come back ourselves:)
