We are 16 acres on a gentle slope at the west end of Whangārei near the Pukenui forest. We are in the process of rebuilding native forest as well as developing a new orchard. We have a well established banana grove which we harvest throughout the year. We are in a relatively quiet space for being just 15 minutes to town center and you'll wake up to rich bird song every morning and fall asleep to the sound of ruru calling from the trees. We are a few minutes to the lovely Pukenui forest reserve, 15 minutes to Parihaka, 20 minutes to Whangārei Falls and Abbey Caves, 35-50 minutes to bay and open ocean beaches. LGBTQIA2SP+ friendly! Kid friendly! This is a flat gravel driveway extending off our main house turn around loop. You can stay in your caravan or pitch a tent in a small unkempt paddock just past the driveway. We don't keep the tent area mowed, so be prepared to flatten tall grasses if you want to use that area. We can offer filtered drinking water from a hose at our house but please be otherwise self-contained and pack out all your black water. Our land drains into our drinking water supply, so no dumping please. The nearest dump site is 11km away on Kioreroa Road across from Renovation Warehouse. This site is adjacent to our small playground area, great for little kids. As such, there may be little kids playing nearby who live here. This is not the most private camping spot, but it's an easy one for families. Please note we are a bird refuge and do not allow pets. If you show up with a dog you will be turned away without a refund. We don't allow firewood collection on the property. If you brought your own and want to have a fire, let us know and we can set out a portable brazier for you.
