Site was easy to locate, was clean and very large. Quite private also. As always we left the site as clean, or cleaner than how we found it. Love hearing the Kookaburras in the morning.

It was a great camping site, nice and quiet with great bush surroundings, nice walk to the river, however, the fish were reluctant to attach themselves to my lure.

Site 5 - Eastern Ridge
Great spot however if you are looking for privacy this probably isn’t the place for you - other campers are directly across the way and the site is next to the main road through the property. We didn’t mind as everyone was friendly and respectful.

Our second stay at scribbly gums, we love it. Roos, kookaburra's & wombats, 10 min walk to the river, although easier access to the water would be awesome. We will be back for sure

Scribbly gum was an awesome spot to set up for the night. Beautiful views through the day and no light around so a clear starry view at night. Phil was great!

Lovely bit of property and close to Braidwood. Worth exploring around the campsites. The river was nice but swollen after the rain, I'd like to come back and try and fish again. Phil was very helpful too

I only stayed the one night, even though I booked and paid for two. I had the impression the campsite was fairly secluded but it was in full view of another camper and the campsite was unfortunately, not great. The river was 2-3 hundred metres from my campsite, which is fine, but there was very little access. Nowhere to sit or setup if you had say an inflatable SUP and definitely too hard if you had a young child. Lastly, I received a message from the host one day prior to my booking, that the river was flooded and one access into campsite was cut-off due to rain. I replied asking, that if it was too wet/flooded, should I postpone for another week. Unfortunately no reply, so I left for my weekend camping not knowing what condition the campsite would be in. After my first night I messaged my host letting him know he can rebook the campsite as I wasn't staying the second night, but again, no reply. In my opinion, the campsite along with the poor communication from the host made it not worth the thirty odd dollars per night that I paid 😞

The host Phil is friendly, gave clear directions on how to get to our site and dropped by briefly to make sure everything was okay. We stayed at the Gumnut site, which is the highest and more secluded of the sites we saw on the property. It has quite a nice view, and plenty of room to move/set up, but does get more sun than the other sites, so might be a little hot through the day in Summer. In April, it was perfect. It’s a few hundred meters walk to the river, but not a hard walk. Dogs were welcome and nearly every campsite had them. Saw kangaroos and kookaburras each day, which kept the 4yo super entertained. Fire pit is provided and Phil will drop off wood on request.

Scribble Gum camp was just beautiful.
Surrounded by lovely bushland, plenty of room and a great little river to take a cool dip. Lots of lovely birds around. We loved it.
Phil made sure we were settled and had some tips for adventures.

River Shack
Beautiful little shack in a beautiful location on the riverside. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the evening fire with a good wood supply provided by Phil, very considerate.
Highly recommend it if you like a cosy cottage with basic provisions.

Site 4 is a good sized campsite. We had our caravan annexe and car on it with lots of leftover room.
It's a short walk to a beautiful river, where it's nice for a swim on a hot day.
The camp lives up to its name as there are many beautiful squiggly gum trees.
Our host Phil was available when we arrived
if we needed anything.
The fact that there isn't any internet server available made it so much better to relax and unwind for the duration of our stay.
I highly recommend Squiggly Gum Camp for a peaceful getaway.

Tent camped for 2 nights at site 4. Absolutely perfect. Very private and quiet. The river was amazing and the shortest of walks from site 4. Super convenient being close to Braidwood. Would definitely recommend.

River Shack
Absolutely gorgeous location, totally secluded and off grid. A totally different experience for our two kids who absolutely loved the river swimming and campfire cooking. Thanks Phil for having things so well set up!

Beautiful spot and easy to find. Phil was friendly and helpful. We only had a small set up, but site 5 (where we were) had plenty of space for something bigger. It was right across from another site, so not as secluded as some of the others looked to be when we walked down to the river.

We loved our time at Scribbly Gum. The Gumnut site was private and had a great view to the nearby mountains. We enjoyed starting the day with a dip in the river and returned at dusk and spotted lots of Platypus. Would recommend this site and look forward to coming back.

What a great spot! Perfect set up.
Tranquil setting and easy access.
The Shack was so much fun - the kids (3 and 5) absolutely loved it.
Phil was super friendly and a great host!
Highlight was definitely the platypus who put on a real display for us - multiple times!!

We loved our stay at the shack. The best combination of camping out in a stunning spot away from other people and disconnected, with the benefits of the little shack and not having to actually set up camp!
Our favourite things were watching the platypus at dawn and dusk, the wombat that trundled past while we were having dinner and the peacefulness of the river. Lovely little touches in the shack as well.
We can’t wait to come back!

It was great to camp right in the bush and be surrounded by trees with the river just a short walk away. Other campers were a good distance so we felt it was quite private for us. We saw a lot of wildlife on our walks around the property and also while driving into Braidwood. We were especially excited to see a platypus in the river.
Phil was a good host, dropping a generous amount of firewood for us.
