Laughing Kookaburra Creekside
Not as advertised
Be very wary of booking here. We booked laughing Kookaburra creekside and the owner moved our booking to a different site. All the sites on their listing show wide open space with easy access to the river... Our site was none of these things and did not match any of the pictures. It was clear that the site we were given wasn't well tended too and they had cleared it with a tractor that week... The ground was torn up with bit potholes and tyre grooves everywhere and large muddy holes all over it and debris from the clearing was across the whole ground - not a clean grassy patch as shown. The creek was about 10m from the sote through thick shrubs, high grasses and bushes... Not really a place you want young children scrambling through and again not at all like the pictures.
As we had been moved to a different site the owner Wen was condescending and rude, stating we had too high expectations and this "wasn't the Botanical Gardens, this is nature".
We are hardened campers who regularly camp off grid and have done our whole lives. All we simply wanted for $425 for the weekend you do expect a simple level campsite with clear access to the creek as advertised.
She was unwilling to assist with clearing a path to the river or moving us to the site we had originally booked as she had fully booked her property.
She did however refund our money but as this was Easter weekend and we had just driven 6 hrs to be there this wasn't ideal.

Big, beautifully shaded and private
We really loved this campsite. We were four families staying together; adults, teens, kids and dogs. We stayed at the site called the Ephiphyte forest. Think of numerous beautiful staghorns and elkhorns high in the trees. It was very private, no other families, with a big, shaded area and a clear creek running alongside. We did lots of swimming and exploring. Directions were clear and accurate.

Such a beautiful spot, so peaceful. Life slowed down, just what we all needed. 🙂

Long lap Platypus pool
What a beautiful little spot! The campsite was perfect for us. Whilst not 100% private, its still very quite and peaceful! The water trickling past was just gorgeous and being able to have a dip in the river was amazing! Wen was lovely and made us feel very welcome! We wanted to kayak further down but big trees blocked the path after heavy rains, hopefully next time we can explore further! We are already discussing when we can return. Thank you Wen for sharing such special spot!

Fabulous Nulla Nulla
What a magical place to camp in a pristine environment. The creek is cool (but not too cool) and clear, the birds are beautiful, and we even saw a platypus at dusk. Wen is a superb host who makes you feel welcome and cared for. We hope this will be the first of many visits.

Great for groups
Just want to thank Wen for an amazing long weekend. We have a group of 8 girls turn up for a unique winter getaway and it was everything we imagined and more. The water was fresh and clean, we had a whole paddock to ourselves. And we even paid for Wen to run a little Yoga session, which was 100% worth the money - We all felt so zen and relaxed afterwards. Being Winter I expected there to be a huge frost in the morning, but not a single bit in the 3 nights we stayed, which was amazing! We will 100% be back!
