Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet.  Dogs permitted (see rules).

What a fantastic camp site and property We camped on the river bend,amongst the river gums Very quiet and private Perfect spot to set up camp The directions and access were easy to follow (towing a Jayco Eagle ,no issues) Local area is only a short distance away for exploring We loved our few days here and will definitely be back. If you're thinking of touring around Tumut and the surrounding areas, this is the perfect property to set up base camp M&A unde

For a first time camping, I thought this was a fantastic area. Loved the views of the river and so peaceful. Would certainly come back again

Riverfront Camping
We loved our stay at Karoola Station, the property is stunning and the sites were right on the river with plenty of space available between campers. Directions to the Riverbend area were clearly signposted from the main entry, which was very helpful as we arrived after sunset. The kids loved riding their bikes around the farm tracks and seeing all the animals. Thank you Sheryl and Jack for a wonderful stay!

This was our second visit this school holidays. The Lagoon the first time then Riverbend. Both are great. Riverbend is a larger area. A good Sydney/Melbourne stopover.

Riverside Retreat
Beautiful spot by the river, easy to find and remote enough to feel a million miles from computer screens and meeting rooms. Make sure you bring supplies as the closest shop I found was in Gundagai. Never met Sheryl and James but their farm is very nice and I'm sure they are too. Would visit again!
