Harper Farms is a fourth generation, family owned cattle property out of the small township of Cangai; just 50 minutes west of Grafton. Located along the Mann River, just one kilometre off the Gwydir Highway, campers will find easy access to our riverfront site. The property is bordered by the Dandahra Creek and the Mann River, and boasts a variety of native bird and wildlife; peacocks, platypus, ducks and the occasional pelican to name a few. The Mann River is open to fishing November - July; and is a local favourite as a kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming destination. Beef cattle and stock horses have been run continuously on the property since the early 1900s, and our friendly horses and cows will often pay a visit to the campsite. Along with our working dogs, we also run a small breeding kennel of Golden Retrievers and Border Collies. Dogs are always welcome on the farm, and we simply ask that camp visitors keep them under their control during their stay. A small shop with basic amenities (groceries, camp supplies, fishing bait, fuel) is located at Jackadgery; a 15 minutes drive east on the Gwydir Highway. To the west of Harper Farms lies the Gibraltar Range which hosts Washpool National Park with walking trails, waterfalls, rainforest and swimming areas. Away from the city lights, the Cangai area offers exceptional stargazing and is popular with keen astronomers and photographers. Our property currently hosts one large campsite; ideal for family and large group gatherings. Booking the site includes complete privacy for your group whether large or small. Our family and friends have gathered at Harper Farms for over a century to enjoy the beauty of the Cangai area, and we are excited for you to come “Camp Cangai” too!Camp Cangai offers easy access for all camping vehicles, making it a great spot for family getaways. The property has spacious river flats that accommodate large groups comfortably.  There is extensive river frontage for kayaking, swimming, snorkelling, fishing and relaxing. During seasonable weather there are clean shallow swimming areas for young children.  Scattered trees and bush offer privacy and shade. Vehicles are to remain in the designated entry/exit drive and camping areas, but visitors are welcome to bushwalk and explore the river and creek perimeters.  Well behaved pets are welcome, but please keep them under your control at all times as we are a working cattle farm.  Campfires are allowed as the season permits, and firewood is available at a nightly rate. A rustic pit toilet and camp shelter are on site for your use, but please provide your own drinking water and shower/bathing amenities. Children aged 6 years and under camp for free. Please book children 7 years and older.

Camp Cangai Site 2
Lovely Camp 2
What an amazing place Mick & Raili have. The site was perfect, private, great fire pit with firewood. Heaps of bird life around, we were even surprised to see some Peacocks wandering around. Right on the Mann River which was fun for a Kayak and swim. Not too far up the range to some great National Parks. Communication was prompt and directions easy. I'd highly recommend Camp 2 for peaceful holiday.

Camp Cangai Site 1
We stayed two blissful nights at this gorgeous site for a belated honeymoon. Everything about the stay was fantastic. It was so peaceful. And the views were amazing! We ordered 2 nights worth of firewood and there was a whole trailer load available to us! 10/10 would definitely recommend. Thank you so very much! We hope to visit again one day :)
