Spent a few days there with grandkids. The resort pool was awesome. Staff were great to deal with, they kept the bathroom and kitchen areas really clean and tidy given the numbers of people there. Will take whanau there again.

Absolutely loved the stay! Only thing we regret is not staying longer! Honestly such a lovely experience. Everyone so friendly and oh gosh THE POOL!
Would 100% recommend going & plan to book again for 2026-2027 summer holidays! Honestly can't express how much we enjoyed the stay even with storms happening!

My favorite place for a quick getaway to refresh and revive myself. This place feels like a tropical holiday all year round. Love all the family friendly activities they have in abundance. There is so much to do and soak up that you don't need to leave where you're staying to have fun.

We camped and aside from being down the bottom so a bit of a walk to the amenities we can't fault it. Super fun for the kids, a swim up bar for the parents and clean and tidy shared areas. It's worth the expense.

Very well organised and staffed park!
Great park! We did a winter trip. Kids loved the pools and slides. Being able to watch a movie at night in the warm pool was fun. Parents being able to sit in the hot tub right next to the slides while kids go up and down was perfect. Very well organised and staffed park!
Biggest drawback: The dryer didn't dry our clothes, even after two loads. They really need better dryers. Shockingly bad. Fine for Summer, as you don't really need the dryers, but for Winter you've got to have good dryers for a water-focused park.
Be aware that they are very strict on rules (noise, how to park caravan, where to park cars, etc.). A bit over the top for Winter, but I can imagine it would be very important over the busy season (Summer, etc.) to keep everything running smoothly.
One thing to note for Summer visitors: it's probably important to be aware that if you don't have your own toilet (caravan, etc.), you may have to walk far for the toilet and may face longer lines, as there are not enough toilets to sites yet (they look to have expanded the park for substantially more tent sites recently and don't yet have more toilets to match).

Over a 7-year period we have stayed at Lake Taupo. So much has changed and added additions such as the mini golf, hydro slides and pump track. Well maintained. There is so much for children and family to do. A relaxing getaway. You won't want to leave. This is our favorite holiday destination!

What an amazing resort— it truly has everything you could possibly need.
What an amazing resort— it truly has everything you could possibly need. A huge jumping pillow, a playground, and even a washer/dryer are just a few examples.
But the absolute highlight is the swimming pool with warm thermal water! There’s a cave with a sunken treasure chest at a depth of 4 meters, a bar where you can enjoy drinks while still in the water, several bubbling spa pools, and they even show movies on a big screen. You won’t want to get out—except maybe for the fantastic water slides.

We stayed at Taupō Holiday Resort this past weekend and absolutely LOVED it! The pool was a huge hit with our children and us. We spent most of our time in the pool or on the hydro slides.
Customer service was excellent from when we arrived until we left. We love that someone comes down to welcome you at your site.
We camped in a non powered site and brought our own bbq and battery banks. So the only facilities we used were the toilets/showers. The only thing I would wish to see in future visits would be a toilet/shower block in either happy valley or dinosaur valley. The porta loos were not very pleasant to use in the heat and the proper toilets were always full.
Apart from the above we can’t complain. Great spot for families to enjoy some quality time ❤️

Easy to complete arrival procedures. 3 Cottages for family of 9 was perfect. Clean, well equipped, close to BBQ and plenty of rubbish and recycling places. As for the pools, simply amazing, so many and seating aplenty. Children never bored. Highly recommend
