Stayed on a powered site with a great view of the lake. Great discount for staying extra nights. The facilities were clean and very warm for cold winter nights. the staff were fantastic as well. Very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely recommend staying at Glendhu bay camp to everyone we know.

Huge lakefront campervan pitches with black sand beaches and mountains all around.
Great for swimming and great for kids.
500MB of free WiFi a day. Showers are great but cost $2 for 6mins.
No sandflies!

We camped for one night at an unpowered site situated just 10m away from the lake. Great view, nice sounds of the wave throughout the night. This campsite is really huge with over 400 lots! But the kitchen is far away, not clean nor well kept. The small toilet block at the unpowered site is so basic with no hot water. We didn’t like the 6min shower too. After figuring out the QR payment n got back to start my shower, I was left with only 5min!

Great place, lovely staff and lots of space. Good facilities, really nice that they have a hot chocolate and coffeemachine for the colder days. Great views! Would definitely recommend it, also close to the lovely town of Wanaka so perfect spot if you want to spend time in the city or do hikes (Roys Peak is nearby, but 35 min drive to Isthmus Peak is great as well)

I couldn’t love and recommend this place more. It’s amazing! The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The common areas are spotless and well maintained and cabins are clean and comfy. It’s my second year celebrating my birthday here, and I’ll definitely keep coming back. Such a fantastic place!

Beautiful part of NZ - my son absolutely LOVED hiring an incredible electric bike from these guys and taking it to Bike Glendhu..he said it was some of the best riding he's ever done! Everyone here was very friendly, great facilities, great view (just not great coffee). My daughter also loved the jumping pillow and outdoor movie night on Christmas eve. Thank you!

Highly recommended for anyone exploring Wānaka. [Imported from Google Reviews]
We stayed 1 night at Hampshire Holiday Park (Glendhu Bay) for NZD $79.30 on a Waterfront Powered Site and it was one of the most scenic stays during our New Zealand road trip. The park sits right beside Lake Wānaka, offering an incredible panoramic lake view with mountains in the backdrop, absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset.
The park is massive, giving campers plenty of space and privacy. Formerly known as Glendhu Bay Motor Camp, it’s now beautifully maintained under Hampshire Holiday Parks. Facilities were great, there are three dump stations, clean toilets and showers ($2 coin for 6 minutes) and a huge communal kitchen equipped with everything you need. You also get 500MB of free Wi-Fi (or 250MB depending on the area), which is helpful for checking maps or planning the next stop.
Families will love the kangaroo jumper, a big hit for kids to play on and there’s even a vending machine for quick coffee or snacks. The atmosphere here is calm and family-friendly, perfect for those who enjoy camping surrounded by nature.
What made our stay truly unforgettable was seeing the Milky Way for the very first time. The night sky here is so clear and dark that you can see thousands of stars shimmering right above the lake, an absolutely magical moment we’ll never forget.
The location is fantastic, just a short drive to Wānaka town centre and the famous That Wānaka Tree. It’s also a great base for outdoor lovers heading towards Mount Aspiring National Park.
Overall, Hampshire Holiday Park (Glendhu Bay) is an amazing spot for motorhomes, tents or caravans. The lakefront view alone makes it worth every dollar! Highly recommended for anyone exploring Wānaka.

Our favourite campsite in 3 weeks. Very friendly staff and super clean bathrooms/hot showers. The lake and the views were worth the price alone. Location couldn’t have been better. Lots to do around the area!

We came with our caravan just before peak season. Stunning location for swimming, kayaking, fishing etc. the grounds are beautiful. "Other" facilities are acceptable, there are some issues with a couple of the electric hot plates. Main block facilities are quite nice with gas hobs and extractor fans. More attention to detail when cleaning would raise to 5* e.g. dusty, dead flies on top of fridge doors. Understandably the showers are coin operated and on a timer for busy season, a bit disappointing it's the case when the place is quite but 🤷. Overall, it's a lovely place for to bring the family for a wholesome experience at a classic kiwi campground that's out of the main town.

Absolutely massive pitches and just the best view of the lake and mountais. We loved waking up in the morning and pretty much rolling out of our van into the lake for a refreshing dip. We planned 3 nights and stayed for 5.
We felt the campsite was pretty good value. Some of the facility areas from reception are older but they were all spotless and often had them to yourself. You do have to pay for the showers but it was hot and extremely powerful and all QR based so no need for $2 coins.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Maybe it is the chilled vibe of the campsite, but also found that all the guests were super friendly, certainly great for families. No noise issues.
You can also walk to the bike park which is an added bonus, only 15min drive to Wanaka and a 5min drive to Roy's Peak. Probably out favourite paid campsite in the South Island.

Grass Powered Sites
Showers were dirty and insufficient amount for the amount of campers. Understand it is peak season, but I stayed at 9 different camp sites during my stay on the South Island and this rated the lowest.

Be warned the photos are VERY misleading... this is an overcrowded, everyone-on-top-of-each-other campground that is flooded with kids and loud families. We were expecting a serene campground as reflected in the photos. Would not stay again.
