Set right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Driftaway Queenstown offers a fresh, modern take on holiday-park stays — architectural cabins, a standout Facility Hub, and spacious sites all designed to elevate your stay. Guests will appreciate the wide, level sites, easy access for larger vehicles, and the option to book one of the spectacular lakeview powered sites for extraordinary outlooks over the water. Whether you’re pitching a tent, parking up the caravan or settling into a stylish cabin, you’ll find the same sense of space, quality and care throughout the park. The two-storey Facility Hub brings resort-level convenience to your stay. Upstairs, a 'MasterChef-style' kitchen, luxurious bathrooms, and a light-filled dining area create a welcoming space to cook, relax, and connect. Downstairs, you’ll find a TV lounge, an indoor games room, and a card-operated laundry, with an elevator connecting both floors for easy access. Close to Queenstown’s iconic activities yet tucked away in an idyllic lakeside setting, Driftaway Queenstown is a premium base where comfort, design and natural beauty comes together.

These are not Lakefront or lakeside site, and are spread out over the entire Driftaway property. Due to the tiered nature of our property, some sites are up high overlooking the lake and mountains, some are on the lower level. If your motorhome/caravan is longer than 8.5m in length please contact our team to make a booking. All guests have access to our incredible split level Facility Hub which has the most amazing views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountain ranges. Facilities include: Ground Level Laundry/Ski drying room Kids indoor games room TV lounge/relaxation room Top Level Kitchen Outdoor BBQ area Dining room Female Bathroom Male Bathroom Family Bathroom Accessible Bathroom Your site fee also includes access to free high speed Fibre Wi-Fi, drinking water at your site and access to waste stations. Please note that our powered sites with a Lakeview are not located close to the children's play areas. As we have a limited number of grass sites, tent sites are by inquiry only. Should you wish to have a guaranteed Lakeview site please see "Powered Site with a Lakeview" category. All guests have access to our incredible split level Facility Hub which has the most amazing views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountain ranges. Our cabins are fitted with a Queen and Single Bed and use the communal kitchen and bathrooms in our Facility Hub. These rooms have incredible lake and mountain views that offer that iconic Kiwi holiday experience without having to pitch a tent or hire a camper. Sit back and relax on your private deck and we can guarantee the views will take your breath away. These studio units have a Queen and Single bed and can accommodate up to 3 people. There is plenty of room to store your luggage, with the added bonus of a kitchenette. Room facilities include: Fridge Electric Jug Toaster Microwave TV Table & Chairs Sofa All bedding and towels included Our Studio Cabins have one private car park per room and also have a small sitting area where you can curl up on the sofa and relax after a big day exploring the beautiful Queenstown Lakes Region. Cabin (Communal Bathroom), Sleeps 3

We decided to return after having an amazing stay at one of the powered sites with a stunning lake view in our RV. This time, we stayed in one of their cabins, still with the same breathtaking view. Driftaway’s location is truly a highlight, offering beautiful sunrises and sunsets, along with panoramic views of The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. It's easily accessible by car or public transport, just a 10-minute walk from the Bus Terminus, and conveniently close to the airport and The Remarkables Park shopping area. The facilities, including the communal kitchen, shared spaces, self-service laundry, and hot tub, were all impeccably clean and well-maintained. Watching the sunset from the hot tub was definitely the highlight of our stay. The staff were also friendly and helpful throughout. We’ll definitely be coming back!

By far the most modern camp site on our whole trip through New Zealand. Everything is super modern and new, there's a fantastic kitchen with an outside terrace and BBQ with a lake view. Staff is super helpful, friendly and arranged for a camping spot close to the main building when I came in with an injured knee (the wheelchair accessible bathroom is also really nice and handy, btw). Has all other amenities as well, fantastic place!

Powered Site With A Lakeview

We booked a lake view powered site and had the most amazing view for our time here. There was also a gate where you could easily get to the lake front and walk along it. The staff were nice and checking in and out was easy. The view from the kitchen area was incredible too - if you don’t get a lake view site definitely head up there for your meals. Facilities were really good and clean. Will definitely be back.

Arguably the nicest campsite view we had in our whole stay in NZ! The facilities are modern, well maintained and clean. Admittedly,the campervan spaces are packed fairly tightly together, so it’s not the most private and spacious of holiday parks. But it is a great place to stay when in Queenstown.

Powered Site With A Lakeview

We stayed 1 night at Driftaway Queenstown for NZD $122.30 on a Powered Site with a Lakeview and it easily became our favourite holiday park of the entire trip. Opened in 2022, Driftaway feels fresh, modern and thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by stunning views of Lake Wakatipu with the Remarkables mountain range framing the background — absolutely breathtaking! The facilities here are top-notch. The toilets and showers are spotless, with free hot showers (no coins needed), which is a big plus for campers. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped and there’s even a BBQ area perfect for an evening meal while enjoying the sunset over the lake. Laundry facilities are available too, making it easy for travelers to refresh during longer trips. Families will love the kangaroo jumper and large open spaces, making it a fun and relaxing place for everyone. Everything around the park is modern, clean and well-maintained, you can really tell this place was built with guests’ comfort in mind. We’ve stayed at many holiday parks across New Zealand but Driftaway Queenstown truly stands out for its cleanliness, layout and incredible views. It’s only a short drive from Queenstown’s town centre, making it convenient yet peaceful, away from the crowds. Definitely one of the best holiday parks we’ve stayed at — clean, scenic and family-friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back next time!
