WELCOME TO THAMES Only 90 minutes from Auckland International Airport and to the cities of Hamilton and Tauranga. Bush, scenic bays, mountains, and cycling trails are all in the immediate vicinity. Museums, eateries, art and antiques shopping, a coastal walk, all part of the Thames. Thames is your basecamp on the Coromandel Peninsula, the perfect holiday destination for enjoying magnificent scenery, beautiful bush walks, cycling, playing, swimming, great fishing, and simply relaxing. DICKSON HOLIDAY PARK Set beside a stream and surrounded by native bush, Dickson Holiday Park offers peace and tranquility. We are only three kilometres from the centre of the town of Thames, and ideally located to explore the scenic wonders of the Coromandel Peninsula. A RICH HISTORY Dickson Holiday Park is located in the old Tararu gardens, planted late last century by the settlers looking to beautify this thriving gold town. It is also the site of the remains of the Brown and Campbell gold processing stamper battery. The Gold is mostly gone, or best left in the ground to preserve the scenic wealth of this beautiful area, but the history remains and is a part of life in the Coromandel. Our family cabin features a built-on annex with a fully equipped kitchenette, including elements, a microwave, and a sink with hot and cold water, as well as a dining table and chairs. The main area includes a queen bed and a television, with a separate bedroom containing two single beds. All bedding is provided, including bottom sheets, protectors, duvets with covers, fleece blankets, pillows with slips, and pillow protectors. Towels can be borrowed with a refundable bond. A toilet is located right next door. Showers are available in the ablution block and operate with a $1.00 coin for 5 minutes of hot water. Guests are welcome to enjoy full use of all communal facilities. Dogs are welcome, with a $30.00 cleaning fee per booking. Please note that dogs are not permitted between 15 December and 15 January.

Our Triple Kitchen Cabins are open-plan rooms featuring a double bed with a single bunk above. Each cabin includes a well-equipped kitchenette, a dining table with chairs, heating, and a TV. A standalone toilet is located right next door (not inside the cabin). Bottom sheets, pillows with protectors and slips, and full bedding are provided. Extra blankets can be supplied on request—just let us know. Towels can be borrowed with a $10.00 refundable bond. Showers are available in the ablution block and operate with a $1.00 coin for 5 minutes of hot water. Guests are welcome to enjoy full access to all communal facilities. Dogs are welcome in the cabins, with a $30.00 cleaning fee per booking. Please note that dogs are not permitted between 15 December and 15 January.

Please bring your own towel(s) or use one of ours with a bond. The shower facility is in the Ablution area and is run by a $1.00 coin for 5 minutes of hot water. Full use of communal facilities. Dogs are welcome; there is a $30.00 cleaning charge per booking.

Each unit is equipped with a kitchenette with fridge/freezer, dining table and chairs, TV, and heat pump/air conditioning. The queen bed and single bed are fully made up, and bedding for the sofa bed is available on request. Full linen and towels are included. Servicing is available on request for an additional cost. The room contains four beds and includes a fridge, microwave, heating, and a table with chairs—perfect for a group of four friends or for a woman seeking a women-only space. This is an inclusive, female-only room. There is no toilet or shower inside the room, but guests have full access to the communal facilities. Bedding is provided for all sleeping arrangements. Coin-operated showers and toilets are available in the communal area, which also includes a games room, library, kitchen, and comfortable seating.
