There's also a community garden and public BBQs close to camp, as well as a sandy beach with mangroves, and a walking track that takes you around the island. Campers must be self-contained as we don't have toilet or shower facilities. You'll have access to water onsite. And you're welcome to bring your pet along! Town is just 10-minute drive away for your essentials.

Your site will be near a dry creek bed near large trees in an open space where you may explore freely within the Creek Paddock which is about 5 acres. This is a horse property of about 15 acres, so getting close to a horse is a strong possibility. Sunset and sunrise on the Flinders Ranges are beautiful, as are the morning clouds when they push up over the ranges. Mt Remarkable and the range running northward is what you will see. You will be greeted by wildlife, including Kangaroo and Euro, bird life, and many smaller critters who may be surreptitiously checking you out. The site is located about 200 meters from the main house. This is a natural space so the ground is undulating. Vans and campers will be able to level without issue providing you carry items to help you with this. The access is year-round with the exception of extreme fire danger periods.

Rocky River Off-Grid

The property is fairly central to the localities of Laura, Stone Hut, Wirrabara, Melrose and Wilmington. Port Pirie is about 50km away if you need any major conveniences or supplies. You will need to be self-contained with your own camping toilet/shower and drinking water supply. We grow veggies on our land - if you would like some for your campfire dinner please ask me.
