Mypolonga Sunshine

Mypolonga is a small, diverse rural community (we won the Ag Town of the Year Award in 2022) between Murray Bridge and Mannum on the Murray River, with lots of birdlife.  

About 15 minutes up the road is Mannum Waterfalls - a beautiful place for enjoying nature, walking, climbing, and paddling in the rock pools.  And, for interstate visitors, we are about an hour and a quarter from Victor Harbour, Adelaide, or the Barossa Valley.

At Mypolonga Sunshine, I offer The Old Stone Dairy, a building that is over 100 years old and has been converted into a comfortable space to rest up for a night or several. It's not a luxury destination, but has a historic charm, and provides a farm-stay style experience.

The property is 7 acres, and there are 3 horses, 2 dogs and 10 chooks also residing here.

Dogs and other pets are welcome - you are even welcome to bring your own horse. We have a yard available for your horse, at a small additional cost per night (please add to booking via Extras).

Our property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer
Ranges and is
on the Bremer River in Rockleigh.
This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area.

We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums-
surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated
further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and
requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags.

The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully.

We are 45 minute drive
from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region.

We are only 30 minutes drive from
Monarto Conservation Park
which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals.

We have a toilet available but please BYO toilet paper. From the 15th April fire are allowed. & portable firepits are available for your use Sorry, not pets.

This spot is so beautiful to sit by & even throw in a yabby net when the season is right.  The river is sometime dry depending on how much rain we have had

Stockyard Plains, The Riverland

The Riverland is an amazing place to visit, full of so many surprises! The variety in the landscape, from harsh limestone plains to beautiful rolling sandhills, to the beauty of the Murry River. There is so much wildlife to see especially when it comes to bird watching! And the area is full of history! In every town you will discover many historical facts and buildings, machines etc. We even have histroy right here on our property!-ruins of an old school. Oh, do I hear you love taking your horse out for trail rides? Well, here's the perfect place for that too!

At the campsite - approx 2km away from the farmhouse - you have the privilege of being surrounded by natural scrublands and habitats on the plains. See our mallee, acacias, sugar woods, grevilleas, honeyeaters, wrens, finches, kangaroos, emus & more. And don't forget the stars!! Our night sky is amazing due to very low light interference. At times, wake up to the sounds of sheep bleating and drinking from the trough a few hundred meters away.

We have a central campfire area for each site and a double sink connected to river water for washing up and a large prep area on sites 1 & 2. Also on site 1 & 2, just a short walk from the camp fire is an outdoor flushing toilet with hand basin-a luxury for a station stay! 

Often there are things happening on the farm. Feel welcome to ask if there is anything you can be a part of to add to your holiday experience! We may be moving sheep, shearing, crutching, fencing, feeding the farm animals, milking our house goats etc. Even come for a horse ride (further info in 'Extras")!  

Well behaved dogs are welcome, but please discuss this with us prior to booking and they must be on a lead at all time. 

Sites are family friendly. Please let us know if you have children so we can accommodate the pricing. We want you to have the best camp experience!

Camping can be arranged in the paddock beside a historic cemetery or down amongst the sheds. Step back in time by staying in the 140 year old stone buildings.

Just 5 minutes down the road you'll find the Sedan pub where you can enjoy a meal and a drink.

Only 20 minutes from the Barossa.

Water is available as natural rainwater from tanks.

Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.

Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided.

Pets are allowed on leash.

Cockatoo Valley Tiny Vacations

This 20 acre property is dedicated to our horses, dogs and talking birds and relaxing! 

We have recently moved to 19D Cockatoo Valley so it's just the beginning. 

Tranquil and relaxing with local wildlife is what we offer you.

You are welcome to wander down the hill into the big paddock and get a close up view of the big Solar tracking system that services the property, and continue on and explore the scrub area where many native birds come and go including kookaburras. 

The line of trees planted in the gully area are dedicated koala forage trees so also wander down there and have a look and see if you can spot one.

Our sheep may run up to you if they think  you have something for them to eat. Cut apples or carrots into pieces the size of a 5 cent coin for them to eat.

There are horses in paddocks toward the dam where wild ducks hang out, and you are also very welcome to say hello to them, but please do not enter their paddocks OR feed them. There are raceways between paddocks to continue your walk up the raceways to see the horses if they are out of view at their gates. Beware of the electric fencing though, it hurts if you touch it!

We now have some very friendly chooks and turkeys that LOVE to say hello and be hand fed. Small amount of bread or preferably small  chopped up pieces of apple, carrot, grapes and  watermelon!

 In time we will have them in a separate area like a petting zoo where you can come and go and sit quietly and enjoy interacting with them. Adult supervision please and no chasing them. Wait for them to approach you please. A family of magpies will enjoy any meat scraps you leave for them too.

Camp anywhere on the right hand side as you drive in via the automatic opening gate which you will be given access to once we have added your mobile number to the system after you have booked. We are currently planting more native shrubs and trees in this area to encourage even more bird life plus provide future windbreaks. From this area you will see the most spectacular sunsets and be able to have an open campfire during winter season.

Take a short drive down Goldsfield Rd to the Mining Museum and hiking trails. A few KM's towards Williamstown stop in and see the Whispering Wall, built between 1899 and 1903, for its time of construction the dam was deemed a revolutionary engineering marvel. Sounds and voices, even a whisper can be clearly heard at the other end of the dam more then 100 meters away.

Continue on through Williamstown and hire a kayak and explore the Warren Reservoir with the resident pelicans. The Warren reservoir was built on the South Para River between 1914 and 1916. Mt Crawford forest is then another short drive on where you can hike, ride and picnic and be guaranteed to see kangaroos in their natural habitat.

We are also ideally located being at the gateway to numerous wineries, take your e-bike and explore the towns in the Barossa Valley which are linked with rose lined bitumen trails, explore the shops, cafes and enjoy delectable food, stop in at the Lavender Farm, treat yourself to a scenic flights with Barossa Helicopters or challenge yourself at Barossa Bowland and fantastic themed Dinosaur mini golf just to name even more options!

Less than 10 minute drive from our front gate will have you at the lovely town of Lyndoch where the local IGA is a handy stop for those emergency essentials as well as the local bakery, craft shop, pub, post office, Lord of Lyndoch restaurant, Table Cafe Kies winery for starters. 10 Minures the other direction will see you at a new suburb Springwood which has a variety of shops and a Chemist, couple minutes further will have you at the lovely town of Gawler. The visitor center here is also home to local artists to exhibit their works.

As you can see, you have plenty of options to tailor your stay to suit the type of experience you are after.

Historic Dutton Camp

Dutton is a special place it's rich in history . There a lot of people  who can trace there ancestors back to dutton . It's the old mahnere were two Lutheran priest who lived in the manse. I herd one was more evangelical the over was traditional. So they would clash because of there differences 
Cross the rd is the old Lutheran church every fortnight they have a service . The old school is still there and also where the teacher lived. Old cemetery at the back.
