Whether you're seeking relaxation or an adventure, our place offers the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. Explore the local charm of arts, wineries, festivals, and nearby trails off the beaten path. Bring your horses and have a peaceful place to stay while attending equine events in San Diego County and Temecula. Our ranch provides the perfect base for discovering the unique offerings of this quaint town and rugged terrain. We have direct access to the Santa Margarita River Trails, a three minute drive; which are famous for world-class hiking, mountain biking and horse riding along the last free-flowing river in Southern California. We are also a 20-minute drive to Old Town Temecula, 30-minute drive to the beach in Oceanside and 15-minute drive to the east gate of Camp Pendleton. In 1-2 hours, you can also get to Mount Palomar, Julian, Idyllwild, San Diego, Orange County and other destinations. We offer a camping spot large enough for your own trailer, RV or tents next to our barn. You can also select the add-on for our trailer to be set up and ready for your arrival (this option will appear at checkout). There is an outdoor shower and rustic water closet, as well as water and electric hookups. Please see the site descriptions or inquire for any additional details. Traveling with horses? They have room to stay in our Horsetel too! We have up to 5 stalls available in a covered barn, complete with automatic waterers, feeding mats, wash rack, round pen and fenced pasture. Any horses staying must be in good health and up to date on all vaccines. We can arrange for a trail guide to take you and your horses on the local trails, as well (trails are advanced terrain). **When reserving stalls for your horses, select only one guest for the sites to show as available. Horse stalls may not be booked without owners booking the campsite for the same duration. Boarding is not available.

Horsetel River Retreat
A mountain oasis close to home.
Incredibly beautiful! You can park your camper or tent right in the middle of the mountains and feel surrounded by nature, only a small distance from Riverside or San Diego. Jeremy was super nice in getting us settled and then just checking in occasionally to see if we needed anything. He gave us directions to the creek and river which were FANTASTIC for the kids and gorgeous hiking trails. Be aware that depending on where you choose to be there may be goats, which are super friendly, and the roads to get there can be pretty tight and steep for certain kinds of trailers. This was our favorite camping trip of the year and we think we may come back again!

This was a great campsite/farm stay! Jeremy set clear instructions on the directions on how to find the campsite. We loved the goats that roamed around. There aren’t any other farm animals in the campsite so Jeremy was kind enough to show us his neighbor’s farm animals, which included many horses, donkeys, goats, rabbits, and turtles. The view from the campsite is beautiful as well since the hills surround the area. I would definitely recommend this campsite!

Totally cool spot, highly recommen!
We had the most excellent time at Jeremy's spot. The Mantis camper was really cool, and there are the sweetest roaming goats and sheep on the site. Jeremy brought us to the horse stables and we headed out on the best horseback ride where we rode along the trail in the preserve. The spring flowers and fauna were madly blooming, and crossing the Santa Margarita River was the most fun because the heavy rainfall cause high water. The horses were belly deep! fYI we ate dinner at Rainbow Oaks Restaurant and it was delish! There's a little country store and antique shop next door. We saw peacocks, red tail hawks, and ducks. My 8 year old son had a ball. It rained through the night and listening to the drops fall on the camper was so calming. Beautiful sunrise. And Jeremy checked in on us and let us know to reach out if he needed us. He also took some great footage of us on the horse ride. All in all, excellent end to my son's spring break. Thanks again Jeremy! And Karan and Annie!

What a gem
So happy I found this little slice of camping paradise. We truly enjoyed ourselves with the stunning view, welcoming hosts and the relaxing environment that was private and tranquil. Great farm atmosphere to chill by the gas fire pit and bluetooth speaker was one of many thoughtful touches. We slept so cozy and comfortable in the rooftop tent that opens up to panoramic views-a huge plus. I love that there’s a variety of rental options- the camper, the rooftop tent or bring your tent. You can see this space was built with great care and skilled planning - without a doubt we will be back. There is a beautiful hiking trail nearby that crosses the river as well as a winery that is great for families, this area is wonderful to explore away from the crowds while being conveniently located.

Phenomenal experience, great trip!
Wow, where do I start? My partner and I decided to take a trip to this ranch after searching through many others. Some things that we really appreciated about the ranch was that there was a “mantis” (trailer) available for us to camp in. This was important, as our other option would be bringing our tent, which we didn’t prefer at the time! Our stay at the ranch was a joy 💆🏻‍♂️. Staying in the mantis was one of our favorite parts! When we arrived, we instantly felt at home and super welcomed 🪴. The mantis was fully equipped with everything we needed to live comfortably; cooking supplies, shower + indoor/outdoor toilet, cozy bed, refrigerator, storage space, and a clean sanitary environment ✔️. We loved that the quality of the products were top tier! It really felt like the host of the camp site invested care and a lot of thought into the experience of their guest! 🔥 Waking up and seeing the mountains, and hearing the sounds of nature was a plus! There is also a not too intense hike nearby. Jeremy and Jenna’s hospitality was a 10/10! He was willing to help out when we had a question and they even offered to show us around the land to see the animals! 🐄🐎. He also brung us fresh grounded coffee (which he didn't have to)🙏🏼🙂. There is also a comfy tent available on top of the mantis, including space for you to bring your own trailer. We would recommend contacting Jeremy first. All in all, we can't wait to book our next trip here!
