Peaceful and relaxing time
This location is beautiful at the very top of a mountain. It is secluded, quiet, and peaceful. We had a really nice time there. Dogs are allowed, and my dog had a great time too.
However, it is almost 6 miles to the top of the mountain on an unpaved, rocky, dirt road with tight switchback turns which may be difficult if you have a smaller car. The area is foresty, with a lot of trees, but no grass, so it is very dusty. We couldn’t build a fire during the time we were there bc of the fire hazard.
The Zen tent was clean inside and the beds were comfortable, but it did look different than in the pictures.
There was a porta potty close by, but the building with the showers and the “real” bathroom was about a 5-7 minute walk away. It could be much longer if you are in another part of the campground. However, the groundskeeper had a golf cart and was willing to give a ride there and/or back.
Overall, I would recommend.
We had a great time here! Came with our two daughters (13&10) and one of their friends.
Staff was very helpful with all of our requests.
Everything you need is here: comfy beds, wood for the fire, tables and chairs, bathrooms & showers.
Views are fantastic!
One and only negative is the road up is pretty bumpy but it’s not a big deal.
Highly recommended. We will be back. It’s hard to find camping this good.
Exceeds all expectations!
Amazing site, perfect tent and setup, even better people hosting and helping!! Huge shoutout to Vicki, Nicole, and Aunty Rachel for all the generosity and hospitality. This is a beautiful location that’s nicely isolated with great hiking trails and the all the visible stars at night....truly speechless. We stayed for two nights and had the time of our lives. Showers, bathrooms, fire pits, everything that makes camping a little easier was available to us. Will definitely be back as a calmer crew and highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a fun peaceful getaway!
Highly recommend it :)
This place is a hidden gem...it’s so close to San Diego and a perfect escape into nature! We stayed at the zen tent and it was very cozy and spacious. The owner and everyone managing the ranch are so friendly and lovely to talk to. All we could hear for 24 hours was the chirping of birds which was so soothing for a change! We got up to a thick low cloud cover views from the top which looked heavenly❤️
All the amenities are perfect, wifi works quite well too. Overall we had a very peaceful and memorable stay at Harrison Ranch, we plan to return here!
Nice spot with good views! I probably wouldn't come back because there was a lot of dust/all dirt paths (campsite wasn't grass) and the excessive amount of flies during the day made it hard to just chill. No fault of the owners or anything though, just the spot. My dog had fun exploring.
