A windy road won't stop our return.
Man, had a great time here. The road up wasn't terrible by any means. Just take it nice and slow. The morning views were nothing short of amazing, however I'm not convinced there are fish in that lake lol. We caught nothing over 3 days. There's a wonderful mile long walk that circles the lake, my 5 year old did it with ease and inspiration. The biggest downside of the whole trip was the difficulty of finding a flat spot but it wouldn't keep me from going again. We are already looking forward to the next trip. Special thanks to the young lady who cleaned the restroom every day. I've never seen a camp restroom that clean in all my years.
Campsite A10 was very clean and quiet, everyone was friendly and the bathrooms were well maintained. The drive up was a little narrow but that’s part of the adventure. The lake was beautiful, I would return.
Don’t want too many people knowing
This place is amazing! This site is the best out of all of them! We saw deer, bald eagles, turtle and it’s neat with an egg, many types of birds and so much more! The water was perfect! Best place for paddle boarding especially early morning or at dusk. Will be coming here again for sure! Don’t forget to eat at Frank’s too, some of the best food we have ever had!!
Camping like it use to be.
This is a great place. I love that its not all crowded and loud like other camping places we have been. But it will be once the secret is out. I stayed in the lake all day. It was WONDERFUL. The road to this place is very windy for a 30 mins, we had a toy hauler so had to take the other route.
Perfect family friendly camping
Beautiful lake for swimming, campsites shaded, bald eagles, friendly host, clean bathrooms, and a surprise fire truck tour for the kids- doesn’t get any better!
Great spot for the family.
My partner and I stayed at Finnon lake a few weekends ago. We both are used to rougher camping conditions so having a toilet was already a plus. If you are looking for a site for you and your family I highly recommend looking into Finnon lake. The bathrooms are very clean, upon arrival the site was clean, some instructions stapled on the picnic table, clean fire pit. However if you are looking to go on a long hike or a bit of an adventurer I would not recommend Finnon lake. There aren’t any close hikes, most of them are 30-40 minutes away. Overall 10/10 of your looking to hang out by the lake and sea some wildlife this is your spot.
