Purchased in 1964 by my grandparents who had a small dairy and row crop farm, the 176 acres continues to be family owned. The barn, though feeble and in need of repair, still stands along with most of the other buildings my grandpa built. Part of the ground is now rented out to a local farmer.
The best feature of this property is the creek dissecting dad's portion of the land. It starts on our line and leads to a six acre pond built in 2007. Though a relatively small feature, memories of walking to the creek with grandma are ever present.
The house is currently undergoing extensive renovation.
The long-term plans for the farm remain undetermined. Ideally, it will eventually become much more than a place to camp. We would like to bring it back to life. It would be great to provide an opportunity for visitors to see various livestock and possibly even help with their care. Grandpa's equipment is still in the barns as well as his 1954 Ford truck. How awesome would it be for visitors to get a little glimpse of history?
In the mean time, camping is rather primitive with few amenities. Bear with us...we'll improve the accommodations as we are able. Try us out and give feedback on how we can improve. We want you to be happy with your stay and eager to return.
