Also, nearby Lake Bay is the home of one of the world’s largest fish hatcheries. Actual fishing is strictly controlled—anglers are welcome, provided they play by the rules. And wildlife buffs? Remember: in Alaska, fish mean bears, and you stand a good chance of catching the local black bears in action!
