Tahuya Adventure Resort

21 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents38 acres · Belfair, WA
3 sisters and our brother in law decided we wanted to make a place where people can enjoy the Northwest that we grew up in. It doesn't matter if you bring your own tent, drive an rv, or rent the luxury tent, the great outdoors is there for all to enjoy! We have great places to pitch your own tent and enjoy the rustic pleasures just being outdoors. The sites are rustic and access to trails are nearby. We also have a wonderful covered outdoor kitchen with propane grill, microwave, and coffee pot. A safe place to gather with family. Bring your RV and park and have a large site to yourself. You have room to spread out your awning without hitting the next vehicle. Each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. Also if you are in the mood you have a covered kitchen to meet and mingle with other guests. We also have a big screen tv in the kitchen so you don't miss the Seahawks games. Drive in and enjoy a lovely view of unspoiled woods from the deck of your canvas tent. Enter the door into a spacious area with a king or queen size bed and small kitchen area. Each tent has its own heat source for your comfort. Each tent has its table right outside on the deck but it you are feeling social come enjoy our outdoor kitchen. We are open year round and It is different every season Our guests love staying here "This site has absolutely everything you need. You'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but I think that was the only things I noticed I'd want. They even had firewood for us, no extra charge! David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. Seems like it would be a lovely place to stay in the winter, so thats when I'd like to come back! 5 stars all the way for everything here, the thoughtfulness of the cabins, the cleanliness, the readily available kitchen and the hospitality. You NEED to check this place out."

The Happy Horse Farm

5 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Lakewood, WA
Property is a 5-acre gated horse farm surrounded by wooded military property on 3 sides. Conveniently located 15-20 minutes from Tacoma and Olympia. Just 5 mins to Starbucks/coffee and grocery stores but far enough away from the city so it feels more secluded. American Lake and Spanaway Lake (and their parks with playgrounds) for swimming and paddle boarding are both just 5 mins away! The owner lives on site, as well as several horses, chickens, and a dog. Large stone fire pit with chairs near house is available for camper use. Pending: Paddle board rental and bicycles for use on property or trails! Set-up your tent anywhere within the horse paddocks - there are no specific sites, although there is a small fire pit and rustic bench seating at far back corner of property. Tents can be outside of horse areas as well, if preferred. RV dry camping anywhere within or outside horse areas. For RVs needing dedicated electrical/water hookup, there are specific sites closer to the house. ***If you are travelling with more than one vehicle, please purchase an car extra parking spot.*** Only four 30amp RV spots are available and are most easily accessible for Rvs under 30'. Standard 110volt outlets can also be available for RV use. Woodbrook Hunt Club, the oldest fox hunting club west of the Mississippi, is a neighbor so lots of horseback riding goes on in the neighborhood. (Dragged scent only, no live foxes are harmed.) Private horseback riding lessons or guided trail rides available by reservation only, subject to weather and owner availability. Use of military trails adjacent to property for hiking and bike riding subject to open land usage and permitting by military base. Happy HipCamping! 😊

Christmas Tree Ridge

4 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Tahuya, WA
This is my 2nd season open to the public so feedback is very utilized. 2wd car people, you are going to want to read the bottom paragraph. (In short, FWD sucks) Hello, my name is Joe and I live here at Christmas Tree Ridge. This beautiful 5 acre canvas overlooks the Tahuya Valley to my south and is propped on the edge of a deep gullie to the East. Long ago this whole hillside farmed Christmas Trees. Its a 1 mile dirt road with a small climb to get here. Quick overview of the sites I have right now, select a site for more details. Valley Ridge Lookout is my largest site up at the top of the plot and is where the Outhouse is located. West perch is a small site with water/power perched over on the west lot line. Side Step is a quick and dirty-park-n-go spot. Gully Vista is still being opened, it's a tiny tent/hammock site with a narrow hiking trail to get to it. Check out the map in the photos. So, after watching campers for a year, I have seen most are car camping or tenting. Some folks have the fancy camper vans and I've seen some old school vans and stuff also. If you are rolling in here with a Full 26' F350 size RV you are very Big for this place, just gonna say that now. As for towing trailers, If you wouldn't tow it into a parking garage, you are not going to enjoy towing it around here. I do my best to filter and set up the campsites to show vehicle types and sizes on this app. A good heavy 4wd, towing a shorty trailer with a driver that can wheel would do fine. If your 2wd..and your trailer weighs more than your vehicle....Hard no, look elsewhere. ____Pros:____ -Borders state land, hunter's verify season. -Just broke brush on a trail that connects to the Howell Lake Trail for hiking, biking, motor bike, or horseback year round. Very narrow trail, just cut last year and always fighting the grow back. -Wood for burning, Not dry, not wet, it burns. Maybe want some dry kindling in the wetter seasons. -Trash free soil, keep it that way please. -Swimming hole at Howell lake is 1 mile via that trail, less then 10min by car. -Great views of Moon and Stars -Solar powered campground ____Cons:____ -Gully creates steep(100% Grade or more) drop near edge of some camp sites. Please keep a safe distance. Be aware when walking around the east edge at night or you may find yourself 100ft lower in the bush or trees. -1 mile long dirt road can get bumpy at times. I promise your car can make it up the hill if you go slow, spinning your tires is why the road is so bad. I do it in a Smart Car and an old 2wd jap truck all the time..... However...... time has shown FWD, specifically FWD cars that have more weight in the rear and not much on the drive axle have shown to suck at driving up these marblelike rock roads. Mini vans loaded to the max are some of the worse. Have everyone in the car move forward can help? Reversing up hills in FWD makes them do much better... Or hell just go flying up the hill at 20mph ripping it up and making a dust storm and you'll make it also like everyone else that can't drive on dirt. Someday my neighbors and I will put some gravel down. If you are rolling in here with a Full 26' F350 size RV you are very Big for this place, just gonna say that now. As for towing trailers, if you wouldn't tow it into a parking garage, you are not going to enjoy towing it around here. A good heavy 4wd, towing a shorty trailer with a Good driver would do fine. If your 2wd..and your trailer weighs more than your vehicle....Hard no, look elsewhere. Towing my 30ft 5th wheel up the community road took a running start due to traction.

Hidden Meadow on Henderson Inlet

2 sites · RVs, Tents4 acres · Olympia, WA
Consisting of two large fields, lush forest, stream, and Henderson inlet, the property offers complete privacy in nature while being only minutes from town. We currently have two sites, a large deck for RVs to park against. This site is equipped with 30 amp power and water and comes with a variety of furniture and large fire pit. This site is ideal for large groups or RVs. The meadow site is located in the field up against lush forest. It has a picnic table and fire pit. No power or water at the site but there is a bathroom and water available on site. The campground is located in a private meadow in the North East corner of the property over 600 feet from the house. The camp is adjacent to a roughly 2 acre meadow with plenty of space for the kids to run around or play games. We have a network for nature trails along the 600 ft shoreline of Henderson Inlet. Along the trails you will find a variety of benches and chairs to relax in. In the summer, enjoy picking black berries and salmon berries off the trails. At high tides, enjoy the views of the inlet from the deck along with the various sit spots that overlook the water. Eagles, hawks, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who might come say hi. We are about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and about 5 minutes from I-5. You may see us around during the day, playing, working in the yard or walking the trails. However, we will respect campers' privacy. We do have two dogs on the property (Wilma and Bean) who are very friendly and we will keep them out of camp during your stay. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am. Sound travels well over the water so please be mindful. We have a long, steep, curvy driveway. At the bottom of the driveway, you will find signs directing you to the camp site. If you have extra vehicles, we have extra parking spaces adjacent to the campsite. The road out to camp may be bumpy (we do our best to keep it smooth) so go slow and beware of natural obstacles. All fires must be completely extinguished before leaving unattended. There is water available and a bucket to fill to put your fires out with. Campsite boundaries: Please keep all vehicles on the designated roads. You have access to the field north of the campsite and all of the walking trails between the water and the fields. See photo of boundaries. Note: please bring your own firewood and check ahead for burn bans. In the evenings there may be mosquitos so make sure to bring your bug spray.

Prancing Unicorn

32 sites · RVs, Tents6 acres · Shelton, WA
The Prancing Unicorn Resort and Recreation (PURR) is an eclectic, boutique, private campground, located at the doorstep to the Olympic Peninsula. With easy access right off of Highway 101, it is a safe, convenient rest stop for visitors to the Olympic National Park, adventurers exploring the coasts, and cyclists biking Pacific Coast Route. Disclaimer: We are not a traditional manicured country club campground resort and may not be for everyone. Please reserve at your own discretion. Our space is an art collective, makerspace and event venue that host art and music festivals. It is eclectic, and can be messy at times with on going art projects, but that adds to the charm. We also have a "junkyard" area on property where we collect materials for repurposing, that may be perceived as an "eye sore." Some of the art displayed may challenge your sensibility. However, if you come with an open mind and perspective, seeking a safe private rest stop for the night in an eclectic art festival setting and surrounded by the sounds of birds and wildlife, you will enjoy our space a lot more, and we welcome you!
