Girls’ Glamping Weekend at Tin Can Acres ?

As a Hipcamp Field Scout, I have the opportunity to camp at some pretty amazing places. I typically bring my husband and we spend the weekend hiking, cook over an open fire, and running around outside with our pup; and that’s perfect when the property is way out in the woods and most likely doesn’t offer indoor plumbing. But! What about when the property is an adorable 1959 Airstream with all vintage appliances and decorations? You leave your husband at home and make it a GIRLS WEEKEND!

We were giddy with excitement upon our arrival and literally couldn’t contain our laughter while getting the grand tour from Steve, the property owner. We were really surprised with how spacious the interior was, as I typically think of airstreams as being smaller – this one was the perfect amount of cozy, while still sleeping us comfortably and fitting all of our luggage!

Everything was so cute and well thought out – it was the perfect glamping spot for our girls weekend.

One of my favorite things about the property was the hammock, located just outside the airstream (but tucked between the trees enough to make you feel outdoorsy). I love mornings, and in preparation of the other girls sleeping in, made sure to bring my book. The hammock offered the perfect place to read, drink my coffee, and watch the sunrise. It also repped the same bright colors as the interior of the home, really bringing everything together!

If you’re planning a glamping weekend with the girls this summer, here are a few things I would recommend bringing.

1. Mimosas!

That’s a pretty obvious one.

2. Polaroid camera and film

Taking photos on Kamilah’s polaroid was one of my favorite parts of our trip. It was so fun to lay them all out and get to see an immediate recap of our trip.

3. Good walking shoes

Even though we didn’t do much hiking, it was still really convenient to have sturdy shoes. The property had some really beautiful open fields and we spent a lot of time wandering around them taking photos – you never know what you might get yourself into, and it’s always better to be prepared.

Our trip could not have been more fun. The hosts were wonderful, the property was beautiful and well taken care of, and the Vintage Airstream was better than we ever could have imagined! Most fun field scouting trip EVER.
