Although this is the largest and most developed campground in the canyon, it’s still modest by most standards, offering a peaceful escape into the Desert Peak Wilderness. Meander through the cool, relaxing campground, which is shaded by forests of Douglas fir, aspens, and box elder trees, or test your strength on the Mill Fork Trail, starting at the campground and ending at the summit of 11,031-foot Desert Peak, with rewards of panoramic views of the Booneville Salt Flats and the surrounding mountain ranges.

Camping and events happen, and sometimes there would be no one here but you and the caretakers, sometimes a lot of people. There are 20 acres to dry camp, so getting back away from traffic, or close to the water are options. Swimming is not an option.
