If I had to do over again, I would’ve brought a fishing pole with a very strong line.
I literally couldn't have asked for a better place after such a horrible situation and I will openly admit that coming from being robbed, broken down and beaten these people showed no judgement on me. They are some of the kindest most understanding and helpful people I have ever met in my life.. Suzanne is so intelligent and her husband is also so empathetic. The horse farm is unlike any other place on earth. Heaven on Earth. From the pond with hammocks secluded to enjoy the sunrise or sets, to the conversations and convenience of amenities. Hot and cold water were able to be utilized for bucket baths in the woods which I loved. I couldn't wait to just shower and rest without worry. This place exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to come back and visit. I loved the horses and they truly are so incredibly majestic and beautiful. If you NEED a place and have a tent, GO. You will be welcomed with open arms. There's a fire pit, cold drinks for purchase for SINGLES & Suzanne was even kinda enough to help me haul my things. I was able to hold a lil chicken too. 100% would recommend to anyone. These are genuinely some of the kindest and most understanding people I've ever met. This place is a serene getaway. I can't believe I'm home in Chicago and can't wait to visit again soon. Until then, tell dink I love em. Lol he is still my lil fav. <3 thank you all again kindly.

Suzanne's property is lovely. There are two campsites - one that can fit a one-person tent, and another (where I stayed) that can fit a 4-person tent. Both have firepits. The port-o-potty is about a 2 minute walk from the campsites, as is the parking area and potable water filling station. This is best for someone used to lighter, more rustic camping. The trails all around the property are lit by solar lights and are well-maintained. And the horses are lovely and friendly!

Had a fantastic time, the space was private and cozy!
My daughter and I loved the tent site. We met and held the therapy chicken and I’ll admit it helped my stress level. The horses were my daughter’s favorite especially Percy. The Port-a-potty was even clean. We had a great time.

This was my first time booking a hipcamp and let me just say the bar is set high. Suzanne and Jeremy's land is beautiful, and they were amazing hosts. Jeremy took all our gear down in the tractor and Suzzane brought us fresh eggs and veggies for breakfast. The animals were absolutely wonderful. I struggle with anxiety and depression and the therapy horses and chickens, especially MUPPET were just what I needed. Felt extremely safe and welcomed. Also catching a few 4lb bass out of the pond was a sight to behold. I will definitely be back. Thank you Suzanne and Jeremy!!

What a great place to camp! It is very peaceful, secluded, and the hosts are very kind and accommodating! I highly recommend staying here!
One of the best camping sites I've ever done in IL! Suzanne was very helpful and even helped me take all of my things down to the site via her tractor. Although it is a very short hike to the camp sites. Plenty of room to hike on the property and lots of friendly farm animals. The site was very secluded and peaceful!

Suzanne was wonderful! We loved the campsite and appreciated the hospitality/felt safe. She provided us with fresh eggs for breakfast! The horses were sweethearts as well. I will for sure be booking again when I camp again and recommend it.
Suzanne, Jeremy and roommates were AMAZING! I love their property and the work they have put in to it to share with others. They spent so much time with me, teaching me! The horses , chickens (Beta ❤️), stocked pond and mowed paths. Beautiful!
One of the best camping experiences I’ve ever had 🌿. The place feels super safe, cozy, and peaceful; we truly enjoyed a real camping experience with lots of privacy and connection to nature. Suzanne was so kind from the moment we arrived, and even helped us carry our things to the campsite with a tractor. We also got to meet her beautiful horses and give them treats 🐴💛.
Another highlight was the flexible check-in and check-out times, which made everything so much easier and stress-free. That was one of the main reasons we chose this spot, and it really made a difference. We left feeling delighted and are already looking forward to coming back!
My two nights at Suzanne‘s campsite were perfect. She was very responsive when I was having difficulties with the directions, she had brought down nearly 5 gallons of water to the campsite as well as wood, if I wished to have a fire, and helped me bring my tent and bags to the campsite on her tractor. Suzanne is practicing great stewardship of the land while having a working farm with horses and lots of chickens. . She and her husband have horses and many happy chickens. She was also kind enough to light the path to and from the Porta potty and my campsite. I traveled with my two small dogs. Both of them loved running around on the miles of trails that they have on their property. And I will definitely return to see how it develops over the years. I was also really charmed by that neck of the woods. As a resident of a suburb of Chicago, I forget how much of Illinois is not Chicago and how beautiful many parts of it are including the nearby Fox River. I’d definitely recommend this campsite (and she has a bigger one too!).
