The Boulder Creek RV Resort Market sells propane, firewood, ice and other camp supplies. There is a dump station on site for RVs. Tent sites are located near the restrooms, showers, pool and hot tub. Campers can use the communal Club House large kitchen and living room with TV, where fresh coffee and muffins are served daily each morning. Tent sites have some trees for shade and potable water available. We're surrounded by the magnificent eastern Sierras and just a skipping stone way from majestic Mt. Whitney. Every day you'll awaken to a picture perfect view and every night you'll fall asleep beneath a vast black blanket peppered with sparkling stars. In an area where hiking and horseback riding trails are abundant, mountain lakes are fresh and crisp, and the scenery is unlike any other, guests are transported into another glimpse of unique California nature and embrace spectacular sunrises and sunsets on the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Tarantula Ranch is located in the Mojave Desert surrounded by BLM land and nearby Death Valley National Park. One of the first vineyards in Nevada, we grow 5 varietals of grapes and make wine on-site. We offer guests camping, glamping, and an RV site. Camping and Glamping sites are located next to the vines and include picnic tables, shared bathhouse with toilets and shower, outdoor kitchen (bbq, gas cooktop). We also have a community area "The Wine Hall" with ping-pong, shuffleboard, refrigerator, and microwave. Outside our gates, enjoy biking, hiking, scrambling, and exploring the Amargosa Desert and nearby Skeleton Hills. You really have to get off the beaten path to enjoy this park. So many slot canyons to explore! The park is massive and stunning. Easy to immerse yourself in the geology. Drink and bring lots of water!

Centrally located but not very memorable campsites

I last camped at Stovepipe Wells Campground in October of 2020. I camped in a two-person backpacking tent. Pros: The campground is centrally located in Death Valley National Park which makes it a good jumping off point for the Teakettle Junction and the Racetrack to the north along with Furnace Creek and Badwater Basin to the south. Cons: The campground is not overly scenic and located quite close to the highway 190—expect road noise and a "parking lot" feel.

Basically just a giant parking lot with tent sites along the perimeter. Get there early to get a spot if you don't have reservations because they fill up fast. To my surprise, I really enjoyed my stay there

We ended up at Stovepipe wells due to a broken tent and high winds up the road. It was far from our first choice, but it wound up being some of the best camping we've experienced. In January the temperature is moderate and the skies are gorgeous. Nearby amenities make camping here simple and it's just a short drive to some amazing trails, hikes, and off-road vehicle drives. Highly recommend.

We camped here out of desperation. We'd intended to camp at Wild Rose, but the spring winds were too much for us. As we drove down off the mountain, we got caught in a dust storm and thunderstorm! The campground is just a big square of gravel and offers not much in the way of natural features. We parked our van right up to the perimeter where the sites back right up to dunes. After the storm, the kids got to go explore the dunes and that was cool.

Great site right in the park! Basic but it has everything you will ever need (expect shade). Mostly an RV site but it did have some tent camping. The camp host was very friendly. I would recommend it if you cannot find a spot somewhere else. Being in the park is better than not. This campsite was right next to the sand dunes which is a total plus to me.

While driving at night, missed the turn to Mahogany Flats and ended up camping at Stovepipe Wells. It was a flat campground close to a gas station, small ranger station, and a tiny little resort. Relatively nice bathrooms, water, and a beautiful sunrise. I wouldn't choose this as my first choice.

This may look like a bleak camping spot, but I absolutely loved the people that worked at Stovepipe Wells. At the gift shop across from the tenting area they had free coffee every morning and the staff was so friendly. Plus the pool attached to the hotel had showers, so I definitely utilized those!

A rather bleak parking lot. The worst camping spot in Death Valley, especially if you're tenting. If you are, try to get the sites closest to the sand. Otherwise, stay elsewhere.
