The host was welcoming and flexible, gave us the choice on where to set up camp and explained the pros and cons of each. We had the whole pond to ourselves! It was a great first camping experience for our nephews who are 8 and 6 and LOVE to swim. They didn’t mind the murky water at all, and the rope swing was a huge hit! The bugs were not terrible, but we did make sure to fog our space beforehand. We would definitely go back

Everything was great! It was the perfect getaway. We were secluded just enough to feel like we were off the beaten path. Yozef was a great host! We will be back.

Yozef was a great host, he made sure we had everything we needed. He brought our group water from the natural spring, tables and benches when we needed more seating.
My only knock is the property wasn’t exactly what I expected. The bathroom and shower are right next to his cabin. Yozef and his girlfriend were often outside near our group and we never felt like we had much privacy. Overall, it was a great experience, would just recommend the host be more aware offering groups, especially those who purchase the total seclusion package, more space and privacy.

Lake Ponder Experience
We enjoyed this stay very much! The kids enjoyed swimming in the pond, it was perfectly secluded. The stargazing was unbelievable.

The place is beautiful, specially the pond, The campsites are relatively close to it, but still each site is really private. The kids and the dog had plenty of space to run and play frisbee in our campsite without disturbing other guests. Yozef was a very nice host, friendly and trying to meet your expectations, I liked his style of decoration and how well designed are the shower, bathroom and wishy-washy. My kids definitely want to go back.

Lake Ponder RV Camping
Overall, we had a very great experience. The place was beautiful and it had everything we needed to spend a good time with our family. There was a lake where you could swim and a fireplace where you could cook delicious food. The owner was very kind and friendly. Definitely recommend going to this place.

The weather was great, my Host is the Best.. and the land was calm and peaceful, I was on a different site and it keeps getting better each time. I truly recommend this camp to all who love the outdoors and there isn’t anyplace i know of that’s better than Lake Ponder... You did it again My Friend, I always feel like I’m part of Nature when i take my Vacation at this campground.

Yozef communicated clearly in a timely fashion. He was friendly and informative. Our campsite was clean and quiet of city noise with an abundance of bird songs. We enjoyed the peaceful area! The fireflies and starry nights were a bonus! The nearby (short drive) artisan well was a fun find. Thank you!

A decent place to stay for a couple nights. Not really private as the owners cabin is within view. Owner and his family and their dogs were out and about during our stay. The pond is very shallow, just a couple of feet deep, not really swimmable at the moment, though it was being worked on while we were there. Nice property, though would be great to have some trails or walking paths to explore. Clean outhouse and sink area.

It was a perfect weekend. The place was quiet and succluded (we were the only campers). Yozef, the host, provided us with very detailed directions, greeted us when we arrived, was very attentive to our needs. Besides a few flies during the day, there were absolutely no mosquitoes. We didnt even use bug spray! Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Staying at Lake Ponder gives me a sense of peace that being at any other campsite I wouldn’t have. This was my third visit to the campground and just as I figured it was just as enjoyable as the previous stays, I refused to go anywhere else if I can help it. Hip camper for life.....

Had a great time!! We had the pond to ourselves and Yosef was super accommodating. We camped during prime harvest season, so there were fairly loud farming vehicles running by 5:30am which wasn’t ideal for tent camping, but luckily my kids and I used to live right by railroad tracks, so they sleep through anything :) We did have a site that was basically in his backyard, which at first made me feel a little weird, but after we were there for a bit it was clear that we had plenty of privacy :) and there are plenty of places to explore which is awesome! Overall, I would definitely recommend it!

I found out about Lake Ponder after seeing posts in a Wisconsin camping group on Facebook and as soon as I saw the pictures I knew that I needed to check it out. The pictures really show exactly how great Lake Ponder is.
My group ended up being the only group there this weekend but there is more than enough room, so even if there were other groups I wouldn't see there being issues.
The firepit was huge and allowed us to have a bigger than normal fire during our final night, we also cooked most of our meals over the fire. Yozef sells 3 different size bundles of wood, $15, $25 & $35, we bought the $35 bundle and it lasted us all weekend, with having a small fire going on most of the day Saturday until that night when we had a bigger fire later in the night. Make sure to look up while sitting around the fire, there are plenty of stars to check out.
There was a glass patio table near the water and a picnic table near the fire pit, the picnic table was in great shape and looked to be brand new.
This area is really quiet overall, we happened to be there when the nearby field was being harvested so there was that noise but it wasn't bad and when the farmers weren't harvesting it was extremely quiet.
There are quite a few little decorative pieces throughout the property so make sure to check them out, the outhouse was full of them and like the description says it is the nicest outhouse you'll ever use. The hand washing station was nice to have.
The pond was great for swimming in, it was a little colder than we expected (nothing anyone can do about that) but the weather got warmer on Saturday and it felt great going into the pond. My kids spent most of the day swimming and really liked it. There is also a trout stream to the side of the pond, which looked pretty neat the little bit we checked it out.
Overall I would recommend checking out Lake Ponder, it was a relaxing weekend and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Yozef was a great host and sure to provide all the little details that can make your visit easy and pleasurable. If you’re looking to get away from it all you will not be disappointed. It is so peaceful and serene. The amenities were so much fun with both great functionality and fun touches that show the thought and care he put into it. His place would be great for large groups with multiple tents as well as just the solo car/tent camper as my son and I were. It was the perfect 2nd night stop on our travels from NC to northern Minnesota.

The location was great. Our host was nice. Our dogs loved the property and host too. It was a rainy weekend and month. If you are going there without a 4x4 or AWD vehicle, ask your host about the trail first. We had no issues but if we had our minivan it would have been different.

This was my second visit to lake ponder, I enjoyed every min of my stay and can’t wait til spring to make another to my now favorite campground. Other camping grounds don’t compare to the peace you get at lake ponder. Thanks Yozef..

Great site with an amazing and accommodating host!
Site was very large and secluded, access to the lake was greatly appreciated (especially by our golden retriever), and the sparnfarckle chicken dinner with baked potatoes and corn on the cob provided on Saturday night was out of this world!
We would stay again and hope to soon!

Yozef was very welcoming and friendly. His family was staying there as well and he invited us to join in on his chicken roast (which was delicious!). He was always available for anything we needed and checked in periodically to make sure everything was going alright. The directions once we got on the dirt road were a little difficult. For future hipcampers who stay here, follow the little white signs marked with arrows posted along the road. We didn't have the typical weekend a normal hipcamper would, as his family was there, so we felt a little like we were crashing a family get together.

Yosef runs a very nice campground. The rope swing on the lake is lots of fun, and the corn fields and prairies give for some great photo ops. He was very helpful when we needed water, firewood, or anything else.

It was a great campsite with plenty of resources. The showers are nice for being out in the middle of nowhere and access to water was relatively easy. Not as private as I expected though. Overall a great campsite!

Yosef was a wonderful host.
There was ample space for everyone to spread out and have a very fun few days.
The pond was amazing for the kids and adults.
The adventure of scouting out firewood was a blast for everyone.
We will be going back again!!!!

We had an awesome stay at Lake Ponder. Peaceful, secluded, and relaxing. Yozef is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We met another family and the kids got along great! They had a lot of fun running around, catching frogs and caterpillars, and playing on the rope swing in the water. We loved the outdoor shower too! Very good visit and I can’t wait to go back again and stay longer!

This was our second time back to Yozef’s site this summer. It’s been so perfect for our family and it’s such a hidden gem. There’s a beautiful outdoor shower, beautiful clean pond and so much more! We plan on visiting one more time this season, then years to come. This is our “spot”.

Lake Ponder Experience
Our stay at Lake Ponder was fantastic! It was our first Hipcamp experience, and I would definitely recommend checking this place out! Yozef was an incredibly gracious and friendly host, checking in just often enough to make sure everything was going well, yet he invited us to his bonfire, which we were happy to join! The outdoor shower is awesome, and the outhouse isn't scary, like many can be (per my child). It's such a cool place, with a little private lake to fish or swim in. We were in heaven, and I'm pretty sure we will be back!
