2021 Hartland RV
Lynda and Rus were absolutely the greatest host I have experienced. We have stayed at many private locations and have never had a host this good. They made sure ever need and even most desires were fulfilled.
Lynda, is extremely knowledgeable. Adorably sweet. Fierce with her vision. Loves God. A real joy to be around and down right to earth.
Rus, is a blessed man. Talkative, friendly, knowledgeable on the property. He is a guide that makes sure you know your way around. He is man to his word and made sure every one of our needs and desires were met. We even got a boat to paddle around the pond.
The scenery is amazing and the many trials will take several times of visiting in order to see all the land. The venue is beautiful and we have began discussing renewing our vows there. We were allowed to play pool. We had full access to their gourmet kitchen. The lovely John Wayne and bear bathrooms were available at will. The out house by the elusive catfish pond was adorable. The bass fishing was out of this world. Almost every cast.
Thank y'all for such a wonderful adventure. We can't wait to return in the spring.

Secluded hideaway
Lynda and Ruston were easy to talk to and very friendly. We looked forward to our stay and the area is beautiful—kind of backwoodsy with a pond and forest. The spot was very private.

Catfish Pond
Great site by the pond. While there are a couple of houses nearby, you don't really notice, and it gets quiet early. Highly recommend!

Camping in the woods
The hosts were very friendly and always answered quickly. The spot we were taken to was by the rock quarry where there were plenty of trees for us to hammock camp. We could have gotten a spot deeper in the woods but chose to stay by the water. This spot does have a neighborhood across the street but the houses are beautiful and still had Christmas lights up, so the reflection on the water made for awesome pictures. The site was very clean and there was a nice stack of firewood for us to use. The outhouse was nearby too so you don’t have to fully rough it if you don’t want to. There are also trails to go explore. Lynda was gracious enough to show us the animals and let us wander around the property. All in all it was a pleasant experience and would gladly visit again.

Beautiful spot with fantastic hosts
We had a perfect time staying at Coppergate Ranch. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful property. Super helpful and communication was great throughout our stay. Had a great time hiking on the land, fishing, and just enjoying the quietness. My family has already decided that we will be back.

Granny's Farmhouse at Rust Farm
A little hidden gem!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coppergate Ranch, in the camper. Lynda and Ruston were very nice, accommodating and helpful. Lynda provided nice, homey touches to our stay. So glad we found this location on HipCamp.
We discovered a great little eating spot, unfortunately it was our last morning or we would have eaten breakfast there every day, Country Cafe Diner in Mt Pleasant. Our food was so yummy!

We LOVE Coppergate Ranch! This was our second year in a row staying there and it’s such a little slice of heaven. Such fun hosts too! Ruston made sure we had everything we needed for our stay - my 11 year old had a blast. Campsite is perfect, there’s a pond full of fish and the sweetest animals that you can tell are very well loved and taken care of. We will definitely be back!

We had the best and most relaxing time. Lynda was always quick to respond. Campsite was right off the lake and covered with trees. Ruston even got the weed eater out and trim the site. He brought wood and worms. Just such a great trip. Will definitely be back soon!

Granny's Farmhouse at Rust Farm
My husband & granddaughter stayed & really enjoyed it. The owner is friendly & the farm she shoed them all the cute farm animals. Place needs some work, & its happening. There is a place to swim & fish. It is also not far from Lake Bob Sandlin & Mt. Pleasant.

We got a totally secluded spot on the property. The farm was beautiful, super sweet seeing the animals. Lynda and Rustin were awesome and really helped us out! We’d definitely go back.

Awesome stay!!!
Lynda was awesome. We arrived in bad weather and they set up an RV with a space heater for us at not extra cost. Very wonderful hosts, definitely recommend!

Coppergate Ranch
We had a wonderful time at Coppergate Ranch hosted by Lynda and Rustin. We were situated by the rock quarry pond and the kids enjoyed fishing during down time. The girls also got to ride a horse. There is about 200 acres and our dogs got to be off the leash most Of the time.

Would certainly visit again!
Lynda was very accommodating, even to delays the day of (we ended up arriving much later than expected). Rustin met us at 10:30, shared our excitement to stay (always nice to meet a host that's not jaded) and guided us to the site.
The site was secluded and beautiful, with amenities that we weren't expecting: hammocks, a fire ready to be lit, and adirondack chairs facing the pond. Wish we could have stayed longer, actually.

Lovely Trees
We had a great time at our campsite. The scenery was lovely and we picked a secluded spot. A nice man from the ranch brought us a ring to make a fire pit in, and only ask for us to put it out before we left for safety. There was another nice camper couple that we only met because they were going on a hike around the area, but other than that it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice time outdoors with your family or friends.

A wooded farm
Secluded woodsy camping on a farm with lovely hosts who do everything to make sure you get there easily and your stay is comfortable. Waking up to piggies, chickens, horses, and cows is a bonus. Loved exploring the woods the little time we were there. The kids had a safe fun place to explore.

What a beautiful spot. Hosts Lynda and Ruston were both helpful and kind, and the campsite by the pond is gorgeous. We caught three bass on a fly rod and explored the surrounding woods. Hope to make it back someday soon.

Quaint, peaceful, welcoming stay
Even as I sit here, with poison ivy up and down my legs, I am still looking back at my trip to coppergate ranch with a smile on my face. We had the best time on the property for so many reasons, some of which are hard to put in words. Firstly the hosts of this property were wonderful humans. Lynda and Ruston greeted us at the gate and had us laughing from the beginning with a charm that matched the farm they developed. Ruston led us to a perfect spot in the meadow, under some trees which provided shade throughout the day. We had our own little field where we could watch deer and wild pigs roam. We setup our hammocks in some trees nearby and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property. Ruston was kind enough to weedeat the grass around our campsite and he even gave us a big metal fire ring to build a fire in. He also brought us some freshly hatched eggs the following morning. Beyond the physical items Ruston provided us, he also was full of wisdom about the land, including the history, plant life and animal life that exists there. We met up with Lynda on our hike around the property, she showed us her many adorable chickens and we met her pup, she then kindly led us to the pond where we took a swim and had a relaxing paddleboat ride. I cant express enough gratitude to Ruston and Lynda for making our experience that much better. We are so excited to come back and see all of the progress you all make on the projects around the farm. We highly recommend this hipcamp spot to anyone looking at it, my main advice would be to prepare yourself by looking up some east texas survival tips, there are a lot of critters and crawlers out there, as well as poisonous plants, so take a few minutes to learn how to spot them and prevent them from affecting your camping trip.

Amazing find! Full of Adventure!
Lynda and Rusten were very friendly and accommodating! Rusten met us at the gate and gave us a tour which was very welcoming.
They even gave us a map showing us areas we could go explore, which was a lot of fun.
They were also very considerate in giving my wife and I privacy as well. If we needed anything they were just a text message or phone call away. The Property is beautiful too!
You will see wildlife. As well as livestock.
My favorite part was being able to set up a tent in a rather setback / secluded spot. Felt like actual camping, which It's saying a lot for me, (coming from Colorado and use to the Rocky mountains). We were also able to make a nice fire to enjoy at sundown.
Check this place out! You won't regret it!
My wife and I will definitely be returning!! Such a fun experience!

Lower Meadow
Lovely
Coppergate ranch is lovely! **make sure to get an address/pin directly from Lynda or Ruston as the address you get from hipcamp apparently isn’t exactly right.
Lynda our host was very helpful and responsive! Ruston greeted my boyfriend and I at the front of the ranch and we followed him back to our campsite. He gave us the option of close to the farm (hard to say no to the happy sheep and chickens) or a little farther away -although still walking distance to the farm-and secluded. We chose secluded.
The site itself was well cleared with a basic fire pit of concrete blocks to protect the tent and nearby firewood. Ruston had actually cut up firewood nearby and said we could have at it, which was so nice! He said to holler if we needed anything and gave my boyfriend his number. He made sure we had everything we needed-including showing us a beautiful cliff/overhang we could look out on and may see deer below in the morning (spoiler I slept too late) and explaining a few cool trails we could hike close by.
There’s no easy access to water/toilets/shower but the site clearly says that those aren’t to be expected so we weren’t let down. We brought water and set up a little fire and my dog loved the nice little clearing in the woods we found.
I felt very safe and tucked away. We woke up slowly to birds and sheep and general beautiful outdoors noises. Coffee in the clean quiet clearing was lovely. I didn’t have cell service (I’m tmobile) but my boyfriend (at&t) had 1-2 bars.
We will absolutely stay again! This was lovely and ask Ruston about the nearby beautiful quarry to fish/swim in and the horses to pet (near but not close enough to walk to I think).

Camping at the Farm - Tent
Relax and reboot under the stars
So, myself my wife and three children camped near a stream that came into a small waterfall, which was the most relaxing sound. Rustin and his lady brought out sparklers and fireworks for the kids, helped us gather firewood and offered us the most delicious fresh laid eggs I have ever tasted. Wandered in the woods until past midnight. Woke up to view the blue jays flying under the sunrise. Then took a stroll with sheep in tow. My only regret is that I did not plan more time to enjoy the beautiful land and the fantastic people. I’ll be back next weekend!!!

A relaxing forested getaway
A relaxed safe weekend away from important sheltering requirements at home. This site was perfect for us. Over 200 acres of mixed hardwood forest to explore with several linked trails leading to ponds and hidden meadows. On the front of the property sits a small working farm where we were free to roam. Campsites are various, up front on the farm or back in the woods. Hosts were welcoming and informative and even sent us home with a gift box of sweets and fresh eggs!
