McKee Farm is rich in memories and rich in history. It has been in the family for over 150 years and we were told that it was one of stopping points for the underground railroad. The 240 acre farm boasts a hidden cave, wide open fields, breathtaking forest land, and historic and rustic barns.
Nestled at the edge of a wooded creek, Tullihas in the Trees treehouse boasts a beautiful sunset view with rolling hills. Tullihas combines comfort with the thrill of being immersed in nature. Built using recycled electric poles, Tullihas in the Trees has a deck perfect for hammocking, an interior dressed with windows so that guests can feel as if they are living amongst the trees, and two small lofts ideal for a restful night's sleep.
Oxley in the Woods is our newest treehouse cabin. Nestled in the woods with a view of the sunset, the lovely A Frame is filled with lovely woodwork, vintage parquet flooring, and private wooded views. The deck is huge! We've had guests set up a tent on the deck beside the treehouse for fun! Swings, and a slide make the Oxley a fun adventure. The double bed in the loft and the two stacked single beds are comfortable and cozy.
The McKee Farmhouse was built in the 1800s and is rich in memories. It's a rustic old house, with wood trim, hardwood floors, and plenty of imperfections that make it unique. You can sit on the porch and drink your coffee with a view of the barn and pastures, or cozy up in one of the house's four bedrooms and sleep in. The house is fully air conditioned and heated, has all the amenities of home, but takes you back to a simpler time.
Our campsites are all set apart from one another in various locations on the 240 acre farm. Secluded and unique, each campsite has its own charm. We provide guests with a fire ring and a shovel, and some sites have a picnic table.
Hiking trails are marked throughout the land. Guests can hike with views of horses, cows, wildlife, corn fields, large boulders, and rustic barns. The dirt roads provide great places to drive ATVs and four-wheelers. An Amish farm borders McKee Farm. Guests should know there is minimal cell service, however, this can offer a great opportunity to unplug. Tullihas in the Trees provides a perfect remote and rustic getaway for anyone.
In October and November, access to hiking is limited.

Because there is no electricity, the treehouse can get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. We provide a fan for warm nights and a small propane heater to take off the chill in the winter - but sleeping bags and warm clothes are recommended for cold months. We do regularly spray for bugs, but be prepared to see an occasional fly, ladybug, spider, or wasp, as they often try to get inside - they think the treehouse is cool too!

McKee Farmhouse

Holiday rental · Sleeps 8 · 10 beds · 1 toilet
Step back in time. McKee Farmhouse is an 1800's farmhouse nestled in the heart of a 230+ acre farm. Surrounded by crops, pastures, and woods, McKee Farm is a lovely farm with hills, creeks, and amazing sunset views. The house has four bedrooms: one king sized bed and three double beds. There are two living rooms, one bathroom, and a full kitchen with laundry. It is an old house with all the quirks and imperfections of an old house - but it's a great place to get away and enjoy peace and quiet.
McKee Farm offers a picturesque retreat with its stunning views and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. The hosts, Carol and Autumn, are praised for their warm hospitality and helpfulness, ensuring guests have what they need for a comfortable stay. While the farm's rural charm is appealing, some visitors noted that the terrain can be a bit sloped, which might require some adjustment when setting up camp. Nonetheless, the farm's unique accommodations, like the A-frame treehouse and corncrib, along with opportunities to interact with farm animals, create memorable experiences for families and solo travelers alike.
Really enjoyed my stay here! The property is beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what I was looking for. It was such a great place to get away and spend some time outdoors. I hammock camped near the horses, which was a really beautiful and memorable experience.
The owners were very welcoming and met me when I arrived to show me to my campsite. They also encouraged me to take some time to walk around and explore the property, which I’m planning to do on my next visit. I was honestly too busy enjoying the camping experience this time!
I’m already looking forward to coming back and would love to return with friends and family. It’s a really special property, and I’m glad I found it!
Thanks for hosting your farm!
We had a wonderful weekend away at the treehouse. The layout was well thought out and we had plenty of room as a family of 3. My son loved playing in the creek and listening to the farm animals talk. It was extremely buggy, but that’s Mother Nature! We look forward to coming back again soon.
I’m a repeat at McKee farms. It’s an amazing place to escape to outside of the city. We opened the rooftop tent next to the corncrib threw up hammocks and enjoyed the sunset and sunrises. Always so thoughtful, everything you need, nothing you don’t. See you again soon
The A-frame treehouse is one of the best places I’ve stayed. A peaceful, quiet and off-grid retreat where you can put your feet up and enjoy the view. Plenty of places nearby to hike, fish and kayak if you’re in the mood to explore.
The hosts were friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely head that way again!
Carol and Autumn were amazing hosts. Whenever we had questions the responded promptly and always helped. The place is beautiful and I highly recommend. I would say that it’s a tight squeeze for 4, if you want to bring more than 3 people, I would tell you to bring a blow up mattress or plan to sleep in a tent on the deck.
Seriously such a beautiful, quiet place to camp. It was SOOO hard to leave! We really enjoyed sitting on the hill by the corn field and watching the sunset, we had plenty of privacy, and its a short drive to Blackhand Gorge, which was great!! We enjoyed walking around and seeing the farm animals and will definitely be back! It wasn't difficult to find, and I surprisingly had good cell reception at the site, which was a plus! Do yourself a favor and camp here! You will have a wonderful time! Also, for people who like to look at the night sky, our site (Little Site Big Woods i believe) is indeed in the woods but you're right by a clearing so you get the best of both worlds!
The stay was absolutely amazing. Not only is the view from the treehouse nice, but having multiple areas to dwell during our trip was beyond nice. There were many things provided and it make the trip such a comfortable and amazing one.
We stayed in the converted corn crib and it was amazing! It's such a beautiful property. We saw sheep and cows. The sunset view was amazing. The hosts are responsive and friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!
I will be returning for sure! Wow. Quiet country escape on such beautiful land. I was originally booked for the sunset overlook point but the days planned were full of massive thunderstorms so I texted to say I wouldn’t be making it. Carol graciously rescheduled me to the following week and gave me my pick of open campsites. All of them were appealing for various ways. The ones in the deep woods were serene and cozy, but I chose the hammock silo. I slept without a tarp over my hammock and enjoyed being safe from the light drizzle overnight.
Provided amenities like fire pits, picnic tables and chairs are all in great shape and the beauty of the land itself just can’t be beat. The outhouse is spacious and super clean with a standard wood chip toilet … easy to use. Freshwater from a well is located near the outhouse. Right now, the corn is half height around me spreading down the sides of the hills and there’s a gray haze of clouds moving over. This is an outstanding location and well developed for the off grid camper (outhouse and water is a short hike).
Book this if you are able to!
second time staying not at this site but on the farm and it was a great relaxing time as expected. such great hosts and so thankful for the opportunity to roam their beautiful property with the dogs! will be back of course🥰
We had an amazing time and the hosts were awesome, responsive, and so friendly. We even received tours of the tree houses because we mentioned our kids wanted to come and stay there. Will definitely be back!!!:)
Cute little place tucked in the countryside. Is it easy to find if you follow the directions.
This was our gateway to the Appalachia, so we were only there for an evening. The deck was great to hang out. The cabin itself was clean and perfect and made for a perfect night of sleep.
The fireflies and sound of the sheep were nice company with a great sunset view.
If you love a true getaway and an incredible view, this is the place! This is our second time camping at McKee Farm at the Sunset View site, and WE LOVE IT! The view, oh the view! And the birdsong and the moos is the cows. Of course, there’s also the wind and lack of shade and the distance from the outhouse. We just prepared for that, and enjoyed our stay immensely. We will be back again.
My family had fun camping at Little Site in the Big Woods! The site was more sloped than I expected, but we found a flat spot for our tent. The animals and landscape were beautiful! We really loved the privacy and the trees all around our site.
My two youngest both have autism. My youngest is non verbal , sensory seeking, comes alive in nature. This was the perfect vacation for him. I knew his anxiety wouldn't let him walk the farm , so having the cows come right up near the house was magical. He loves exploring the house and building pillow forts in the front living room with the loveseat pillows. He especially loved the mirror upstairs and would making silly faces and dance. His behaviors were amazing you could see how the farm and nature just calmed his body and mind. I hope I can save up the money to come back soon. I wish I could give my son this everyday !!! Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us. We are eternally grateful.
The farm is beautiful and the hosts were friendly. The site is on a bit of a slope which was a bit disorienting, but the site is beautiful and private feeling. Would recommend camping at the farm!
My girlfriend and I loved our one night stay on the farm. We enjoyed all the sights and sounds and were excited to get out of the city for one night. Even though it rained for most of the trip we loved everything it had to offer and definitely look forward to experiencing it all when the sun and stars are out.
We had a great time tent camping on the farm! The hosts were nice enough to allow us to change our night to avoid heavy rain and even gave us an upgrade at no extra charge! Will definitely be staying again, the views were beautiful. Thank you!
Tent camping here was amazing! We were super close to the horses, so we were able to say hi to them and even the goat! This site is at an angle so it’s a bit tricky to find a flat spot especially with multiple tents
