Secluded spot about an hour from Hot Springs National Park. Minimal noise from the highway. Great pad location for setup. It rained heavy our second night and the pad did not flood which we were thankful for! Easy walk to the lake. Spot comes with fire ring, chairs and a small table. Nice gem in Arkansas!

Kitty Cove!
We came in later than expected and couldn't stay without a fire ...which we couldn't have due to a burn ban. The fire pit and campsite was beautiful . The short walk to lake greeson was worth the amazing view especially at sunset! The beach had wildlife tracks everywhere.. It was fun to identify them. Deer , crane, racoon, dog,, and....cat! Coming back up kitty cove...we saw a kitty alright ..coming quietly down a tree and trotted down what looked to be a dried up creek. I say Bobcat..boyfriend says he saw a long tail. So bobcat or mountain lion 🤷♀️ I'm going with Bobcat. Amazing place with breathtaking views. We did not stay the night but we did get to see the black chickens as we came in😍.

Peaceful lake camping
Charles was an amazing host he kept a supplied with wood. He was quick to respond to all messages. Kitty cove offered a trail to the lake that wasn't too deep for the kids to swim but deep enough! Very welcoming and very friendly willing to help in any way he could!

Private spot/makeshift accessories
Super private spot with limited access to the lake. I was able to manage it with a mid-sized all wheel drive SUV towing an 8-foot camping trailer (with effort) Tight turns and limited open space made maneuvering tricky and recent rains had significantly washed out the dirt road. We acquired water from the provided spigot halfway down and then set up on the ridge site. Initial impressions of the site were that it was cluttered but looking more closely all the items served a purpose…dishwashing water/pails on two metal chairs…cut wood stacked on a low grill…fire pit and two metal chairs…toilet area screened with tarps. The host had provided a batch of wood and set a fresh bag in the toilet. We explored one of two marked trails down to the lake. It was a five min walk to an unmowed small clearing where we could view the lakes edge but we choose not to walk through the tall grasses to see more of the lake. Ultimately we decided to move on as it was hot, humid and the mosquitoes were swarming that evening. The lake was too far to drag our boat down to easily as an escape from the heat/bugs and the forest was keeping the air very still around us. Our host graciously messaged us as we were leaving to offer a different spot with electricity for air conditioning but we do not have AC in our little trailer so declined and moved on. If you are used to the heat and mosquitoes of the AK forests then this spot will be a great retreat. Its not glamorous but it is private.

Beautiful and secluded spot for just relaxing and enjoying nature. Slept in each morning and then short walk to a sunny beach by the lake. Topped off by a wonderful and interesting host that took great care of us. Will definitely be back if ever in the area again.

Still our favorite spot!
After two years, we made the drive back to Arkansas for a backpacking trip along the Womble. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather in the forecast, there weren't any suitable campsites along the stretch of trail we hiked, and we were left without a place to eat and sleep with about 2 hours of daylight left.
Fortunately, I remembered Charles' charming campsite, and he accommodated us last minute! We absolutely couldn't believe he had a vacancy so last minute - we had tried to book last year, but the entire summer was booked up! The site is just as gorgeous as the last time we visited, though we didn't get to trek down to Kitty or Bennett cove this time. Charles brought us some cherry wood for a relaxing fire, and we had a great night's sleep.
Thanks, Charles, for another great stay!

Said hi to Charles on the arrival and did not see him again. The chickens are far enough away to where the noise did not bother us. Nice short walk to lake on either side. One of the walks had a babbling brook.

Great spot to camp and Charles was super friendly! We arrived at the campsite and he told us where to go if we wanted to access the water or hike on trails. The beaches were very private for the most part, definitely a great spot for a little getaway from the world!

First family camping trip!
Really quiet and relaxing! Charles provided fire wood and was super helpful getting us to the site, even though we had arrived much later than anticipated. I appreciated his quick responses and friendly messages! The campsite was very well maintained as were the trails to the lake. Thanks for an amazing family trip!

Rooster Row
just one little problem
Charles is a very accommodating and concerned Host. The week I was there the Weather Channel got it AALLL wrong ! The last two days were freezing rain so Crater Of Diamonds got scratched off the to-do list. Charles loaned me a small space heater for my tent and it made a few degrees difference through the night. He also shared a 1/2 dozen fresh eggs and hooked me up with a fist full of Fatwood Splinters for later.
Rooster Row is a very large & level area and only 1/4 mile from the Lake Greeson shoreline. I suggest the ARBLM road to hike or bike your way down.
The bad thing is the drive way down to the various campsites. If you have low ground clearance or a long wheel base its gonna get sketchy coming in and if the ground is wet a frozen, like when I pulled out @20*, you better be aggressive with your momentum on your first attempt. If he had a bit off dozing or grading done it would make a world of difference.
Also, put out some better Markers or Signage at the road to show the turn into the property.
I WOULD go back if I'm ever that way again ! ! !
