The campsite was large and located near the middle of a small town. The boat launch had excellent water for a quick swim. Our host was polite and helpful

We had a lovely time! The site was clear, flat with a fire pit and ab outhouse. A large lot with a lot of space to move around. What a wonderful home base while we hiked and explored.

Lovely spot to spend a weekend! The site was clean, well kept, spacious and private. We had a great time hiking in the area. So nice having Round Lake so close as well!

The Knotty Pines by Round Lake
Trish and Hendri's site was fantastic! It was well kept, flat, private and lots of space to set up a tent and play fetch with the dog. The hosts were great for answering questions prior to our stay and they even emailed an info package prior to our arrival. There was no surprises and everything is as advertised. Great hosts and highly recommend. Also, for boaters, the site is located less than a km from a public boat launch as well.

Had a great time staying on Trishes Land, loved being surrounded by the trees in my rooftop tent, they were super friendly making sure I had everything I needed to make sure my stay was top notch! And a super clean outhouse as well fully stocked, would definitely stay there again next time I'm travelling around the Algonquin Park area!!

The Knotty Pines by Round Lake
We were a larger group and had a great time! There was a lot of space for lawn games and pets to run around. The only issue were the mosquitos in the evening, however we went during a fireban so the lack of smoke didn't help. That being said, Trish was awesome and already had a mosquito “gazebo” set up for us to use and we hung out in there for the evenings without being bothered! Trish was also kind enough to extend the hose to us so we can refill our water jugs whenever we needed to. The water access was a very quick walk across the road. Shallow water and only sandy bottom - it was an amazing refreshing swim. Bonus: there is a convenient store next to the swim area for any extra snacks and ice-cream :)

We loved camping of Trish and Hendri's land. It's huge! Can definitely fit a circus worth of RVs in there and the outhouse was very clean and well stocked with sure freshener and hand sanitizer. They have a camper that has two double size beds in there along with some cabinets for storage and games ($20 per night extra) and a gazebo tent that came with the camper. Trish and Hendri were such great hosts, they hooked up an extension cord for us to charge are power station and speaker. Also allowed my friend to use their wifi for her meeting. There was a fire ban during our stay and turns out the tents I borrowed were in bad shape, so they allowed us to have the camper for free. Such generous hosts. They are also the type to give you space but are down to party when invited. The locals are very friendly as well, there is a Stinson gas station/ food Mart just up the road, which we frequented a lot for ice and whatever else we forgot to get. My friend and I really enjoyed our time together at Trish and Hendri's and will definitely go again.

Trish and Hendri sincerely have to be some of the nicest people we have met. They made sure my girlfriend , two dogs and I stay was the absolute best! Even happened to be During the long weekend with 1 night notice for our booking and Trish and Hendri still made sure we had everything you could need but were still super respectful of privacy as well! Just to list a few awesome things about the site: Clean outhouse nearby, water hose accessible to spray down, the fire pit was excellent and clean they even offered us a really good fire starter with our wheel barrel of wood which was piled very HIGH plenty for our stay, TONS of space for my dogs to run around and play fetch, Secluded single site (you wont be bothered by noisy campers),lots of shady areas AND sunny areas, multiple picnic tables , multiple spots to set up your tent,nice VERY clean flat site, right across a beautiful lake , pop up trailer tent to stay dry if you get rained out like we did 1 night ,the provincial parks nearby the walks and hikes are definitely worth it. Multiple scenic waterfalls and lookouts.
Long review short if your trying to get a very dog and kid friendly up north experience with AMAZINGLY kind hosts and excellent location this is definitely the spot . We will most certainly be coming back even tho it was almost a 7 hour drive it exceeded any expectations I had for our camping Trip . Thanks again To Trish and Hendri✌

We absolutely loved camping here! Trish, Hendri and their daughter were so welcoming and kind and they brought us more than enough wood to last us the weekend. The property and outhouse were so nice and we were just a short drive away from a boat launch, which was great for swimming and kayaking. I would definitely come here again in the future!

This was the first time that my partner and I used Hipcamp and we are so pleased! The host family were such lovely people, big smiles, and ready to help in any way they could. They went above and beyond what they said they offered, by giving us a place to plug in our jackery battery. The amount of wood they give you for the lovely fire pit area is enough to keep your fire burning for a couple of nights, depending on your usage. It is a great value. Henry also provided a mixture of sap and something else that really helps to start the fire. Trish was really kind and social and more than happy to aid with any camper needs. The little outhouse was clean and stocked with air freshener, toilet paper, and sanitizer. The area we camped on could easily host many people. It was almost a shame that we were occupying such a nice place that could be used for a bigger group! We opted to rent their tent trailer for an extra $10 a night and we were not disappointed! It was roomy for my partner and I and our Corgi. We had a lot of privacy, but Trish and Henry welcomed us to chat. Their daughters are adorable. We were really pleased with our exceptional stay. It far beats a large campground! We can absolutely see ourselves heading out that way again.

The Knotty Pines by Round Lake
The camping site was amazing with plenty of room to setup our equipment! Trish and Hendri came to welcome us and brought a huge wheel barrel full of wood for a minimal price which lasted us 2 nights without fear of needing more.
The site is very private and quiet with lots of trees to get some shade when hot, but has plenty of sunny areas as well if wanted.
The boat launch, which is less then 2min away by car, was surprisingly very nice to go for a swim. Water was clear and the bank sandy to walk in. We took the dogs out for a swim multiple times during our short stay.
We definitely will be back and highly recommend to anyone.
Thank you very much once again to Trish and Hendri for a memorable stay, you guys are awesome.

We loved our stay at Hop, Skip, Lake on Easter Weekend! Patricia and Hendri were the kindest hosts and made sure we were very comfortable. They are the type of hosts who leave you alone to the tranquility of your campsite or hang out and socialize, whichever you prefer they will ensure you are happy with your stay. The campsite was an acre of your own land to pop your tent or camper wherever you please. There was lots of tree coverage, a great fire pit and multiple picnic benches. There is a few 4 wheeler trails right off the property for walking your dog or a little beach across the street on Round Lake. Foy Provincial park and Bonnechare park is in close driving distance for more hiking and swimming. We would highly recommend.

Now that we have been back home for a little over a week, I must say, we really miss it. We are finding ourselves wishing we were still there. It is gorgeous and peaceful. Paradise. We also miss Triah, Hendri and Alina!

Trish and her husband were very helpful and accommodating making sure we were all settled in after we arrived late. We had entered the wrong info into Google maps the town and the lake are the same. So we went all around the lake before Trish texted at dusk to see if we were lost. Hahaha we were, just sitting a block away having missed the turn while admiring the church right there.
I really appreciate how helpful they were, letting us use their stove when ours was not functioning and bringing extra kindling for the next night. Even picking up an extra beach towel incase the weather changed. I would recommend Hip Hop Camp for anyone wanting a nice, quiet, private experience. It was lovely.

My family and I booked for 1 week. We are still currently here. This is my first time using Hipcamp and I must say, I am truly impressed. Hop, Skip, Lake is a paradise. The space is huge. We have a whole area set up for our tents. A different area for our "living space" and still so mich more space to play badminton, toss a ball or just run around. We have absolutely loved staying here. Trish and Hendri have really set the bar high. They are absolutely amazing hosts. So friendly and down to earth. Will 100% be staying here again!

This is a great campsite, quiet and private. Very large site, suitable for a large group of people or just one camper like myself. I stayed here for one night while touring on my motorcycle. Its nice having your outhouse. The hosts were very welcoming and caring. I will definitely stsy here again. Bonus, the lcbo is in walking distance to the site.

The hosts were the best people and absolutely wonderful, accommodating, friendly, and caring! Wonderful musicians who will serenade you (or play along with you), and provide amazing company if you welcome them! The space was clean, big, and surrounded in beautiful flora and fauna. Honestly would camp there over and over again. We had the best time and the town is so adorable.

I must say for being the first campers that Trish and Hendri hosted, they sure are naturals! It was such a pleasure meeting them and their darling daughter, Alina. They were all very accommodating and exhibited such a warm personality, making all of us feeling very welcomed. The camping grounds were well kept and trimmed. The outhouse was clean. We were able to fit my families 17 foot trailer and multiple other tents with no problem and still have room for the kids to kick a soccer ball, throw a frisbee and have a camp fire at the same time. There is a great provincial park near by which we enjoyed. And few fellow campers were happy to know that there was a liquor store basically right next door. This was truly a great experience, especially since it was a first for my family and I. These host have set high standards and we definitely will be back again.
