We are originally from Northern California. We are enjoying our expansive farm with all it's fresh air, fresh food, plants, animals, and fun events.  We enjoy time relaxing in hammocks and letting the world pass us by.  Bring your family out to enjoy all the farm has to offer, or take advantage of the serenity and privacy! Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent near the creek (site 1) in a completely private site (kids can sleep in the truck bed topper or fort if they'd like) or on the field to the side of the house (site 2) for a semi-private spot nearest to the bathroom and with a wood chip drive entrance for larger vehicles or (site 3) a semi- private spot down by the creek and the hay bales to the left of the house.  (Or pick a spot of your choosing).  Enjoy the farm animals, walk the property, build a fire, and enjoy the outdoors! There are more animals to pet from April through October (typically we have bunnies, chickens, sheep, cats, dogs, alpacas, miniature horses, horses, pig, goat, etc.).  In the winter the horses, alpacas, chickens, dogs, cats and sometimes bunnies are available to visit.  Firewood bundles available for $8.00.   There is a state park (Ft. Daniel) less than 5 minutes away and others a bit further (Spitler or Sand Creek) Horseback riding may be available upon request - $25.00 per person or $50.00 per family.  There is a large shaded playground in the front yard for the kids with a trampoline, small zip line, ninja line, slack line, silks, climbing dome, hammocks, etc.

Friendly animals
This was my first HipCamp experience. My two kids and I had a great time at Serenity Fields Farm! My kids favorite parts: the cats and dogs, the mini horses and sheep, the horseback riding. They also got excited about hot running water in the outdoor bathroom :) One of the farm dogs stayed by our campsite all night and barked/chased a couple things away in the night. She joined us in our warm tent the next morning when the boys invited her in. Julie was a great host. We had everything we needed and more!

Bees and Kittens!
Can’t go wrong with hip camp. But not for everyone! Site 2 is near a beehive so they were very active from 7 - 11am. My husband got stung. There are also free roaming kittens and they are both charming and mischievous. If you are not comfortable with either of those things - this place is not for you. I would not recommend for children during the fall pollination season.

Idyllic farm
Absolutely beautiful farmland, horses and cows grazing just beyond our tent, bees buzzing in the wildflowers, and a very friendly kitten coming by to say hello. The guest bathroom was clean and well lit, and it was wonderful to have running water in the sink. What a wonderful setup!

Private and Romantic Get Away!
We had a fantastic stay on the farm! Our host was gracious enough to answer all our questions and offer recommendations (over text), but otherwise allowed us complete privacy for a romantic weekend. The farm is gorgeous! We loved playing with the dogs and friendly kittens. Overall a great experience!

We camped in site #1, creek-side. Lovely little spot in back of a farmhouse. It was a peaceful place to get away from home for a night. The sunset over the fields was beautiful. Facilities are excellent. Firewood available self-service/venmo payment, and the host has set up a private restroom for guests outside the house, which was clean and well-equipped. Interesting farm animals abound... we were visited often by a sweet black cat and two farm dogs, and we walked over to see the chickens, horses, and alpaca(?). Bring a camp table or something to set up for meals -- there is no picnic table at the camp site.

Best Family Campsite!
Serenity Fields Farm is the BEST spot to camp for families with children! There were lots of animals for everyone to enjoy. We especially loved the horses and perhaps next time we'll pay for a ride! Additionally, there were so many toys set up for kids to play with that the front yard felt like a park. Swings, zipline, trampolines, large tires, and climbing toys. The bathroom was clean and had running water. We stayed at campsite 1 which comes complete with a little platform that overlooked the forest and creek. The sunsets right over the vast field and is truly an experience in itself. The host Julie was very kind and accommodating. 10/10 we'll be back!

Wonderful fall overnight. We’re a family of four with a 6 and 2 year old. The kids loved the animals, zip line, trampoline, and ninja course. Adults loved the peace and quiet and stargazing. We enjoyed site 3 and could hear the creek at night. Horse rides in the morning. Julie was great with our son who had never rode a horse before. We’d come back again!

Great Family Spot
Serenity Fields was a great spot for the whole family. The kids rode horses, jumped on the trampoline, used the zip line, picked fresh fruit and veggies, grabbed fresh chicken eggs for breakfast, held bunnies and roamed the property. Julie was responsive and a great host. We will definitely come back!

Serenity Fields Farm is a lovely property, very peaceful with the addition of two playful dogs and a menangerie of farm critters. After spending more than a year in the desert of New Mexico during the pandemic, the lushness and flowing rivers, streams and lakes was very heartening. Thanks for having us! We enjoyed our stay!

Bookends for the summer!
This was our second trip to stay with Julie and her menagerie. Although the weather was hot and humid, we enjoyed our last weekend prior to school starting. The turkeys visited the site, and the kittens spent their entire time visiting with us. As before, a great site with shade aplenty, flush toilet, and running water. Can’t ask for more!

Family fun on the farm
Julie's farm is amazing! We could have stayed for several days. Our girls picked fruits and vegetables, played with all the farm animals, splashed in the creek, and bounced on the trampoline. What a peaceful, joyful place!

Wonderful farm with a great host
This was an awesome place to camp. Julie was a great host. She was very welcoming and made all of us feel very much at home. She even was kind enough to take a bunch of us on horse rides even though it was really hot outside. There is little adventure course set up, including a zip line which the kids were super excited about and never wanted to leave. There are also a lot of friendly animals and all of us loved playing with the super cute and friendly kittens. This is wonderful place for families and is not too far from Decatur and Lake Shelbyville is only 30 minutes away. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay at Serenity Field Farms. We had a big group spread across 2 bookings this time, and everything was great! Julie let us know there were kiddo day campers, and we had a fun time interacting with the campers and animals. Having access to a bathroom was great. We had a great time and will be returning again!

Mini horses, delightful place!
Julie is a spectacular host! The farm is very exciting. Went with a group of fully grown adults who had the greatest time rolling around with kittens, rabbits, and some lovely farm dogs. Miniature horse is a treat to observe.

My family of 5 (plus dog) had a fantastic time! Julie and her family made our first trip out of The City since the world blew up relaxing, stress-free, and… well, serene! We normally stay in state and national parks and forests, but with the crowds expected for the holiday weekend, we were a bit nervous. Julie’s place (Site 1, by the creek and the clubhouse) gave us exactly what we were hoping for! The kids enjoyed sleeping / playing in the clubhouse, playing on the trampoline / zip-line / static lines, riding their bikes around the open spaces of the farm, and, of course, the horse-ride and other animal experiences. We would definitely return — they were upset to have to leave at the end of the stay!

Early season camping possible!
This is a great little farm with animals for the kids to interact with. We were a little early in the season - it was a little cold and damp - but the location is unique!

The perfect little group getaway
I'm so grateful I found Serenity. As is the rest of our group! We booked both sites that were a little farther away from the house so our group could spread out a bit and still have privacy. It was perfect! Everyone loved the animals and the barn cats and kittens, and my green thumb friends and I loved walking through Julie's wonderful garden. It was a much needed escape from the city and better than any other camping site we've stayed at so far (our group does a yearly camping trip every Halloween). And the bathroom was SUCH an improvement from other places we've stayed and Julie was very responsive and refilled the tp moments after I reached out to let her know we were a bit low. Highly recommend staying at Serenity Fields Farm!

Great stop over...
We are on a cross-country and don’t really have much time to linger, but really enjoyed our time at Serenity Fields Farm. Julie called with easy-to-follow instructions and options on where to camp. We selected site 2 by the trees b/c it offered some protection from the wind. We met the alpacas, and said hello to the horses, bunnies, cats, ducks, turkey, chickens, and dogs. Should have grabbed some fresh eggs for breakfast, but remembered after my store-bought eggs were frying. Oh well. All the animals are friendly and fun to visit. My wife, a real animal lover, was over the moon.

Excellent camping place for kids
Julie’s place is amazing. We were there for a last minute one night camping trip and our kids could not be happier! Julie is very welcoming, attentive, receptive and very personable. The place is very clean and maintenance is excellent. My kids felt in love with her after she saddled her horses and took them around & showed them some of her pets. We are already planning a future visit with more days to spend at Serenity Fields Farm.
